They will now play versus Dominican Republic in today's Top 4 action. Puerto Rico completed the preliminary round with a perfect 2-0 record, while Antigua finished the tournament winless. Puerto Rican players gave Antiguan side little chances in this one. They dominated the game right from the start and enjoyed a 28:14 lead after the first frame. Antiguan squad struggled to maintain the hosts and fell benind 20 points at halftime 25:48. Puerto Rico continued to dismantle their counterparts in the third stanza and drove to a 73:31 advantage. The outcome was clear and Puerto Rican coach allowed bench players to log some more minutes on the court. This never influenced the flow of the game and Puerto Rico won the final quarter 18:12. Pamela Rosado (160-G-86) topscored for Puerto Rico with 18 points. Cynthia Valentin (173-G-84, college: Indiana) and Angeiely Morales (-87) added 16 points apiece for the winners. Amanda Edwards (-88) answered with 15 points for Antigua. Dalia Clarke (-78) had 8 points and 10 boards in a losing clause.

The Antigua & Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) has launched an initiative, as part of the Antigua/Barbuda National Women's League Programme dubbed 'The Return of the Ladies.' The goal of the programme is to revitalize and rebrand Female Basketball in the State.
As such, the ABBA, last Thursday, February 7, 2013, extended a letter of appointment to Mr. Lucaso Brumant to the role of Commissioner of Women's Basketball in Antigua/Barbuda.According to ABBA, the role of the Commissioner will be to co-opt the assistance of other enthusiastic officials in re-establishing the Antigua/Barbuda Women's Basketball Commission.
Other areas of responsibility will be to manage the logistics involved in running the Women's League, liaise with teams in preparation for the League, assist with acquiring sponsorship and mediate on issues/matters of disciplinary infractions involving players. The Commission is expected to commence the Women's Basketball League in April. Meanwhile, the Commission will select an U-23 team to compete in the 13th Annual Gillian Brazier Basketball Shoot-Out, schedule for June 30-July 7, 2013. So far, Sultan Prospects of Ontario, Canada, Chase Collegiate of Connecticut and Martinique have confirmed their participation.

Guyana made a winning start to their campaign by snatching a 52-48 victory over Wings on Wednesday night. Aulder sank 16 points and Jacobs scored 13 for the Guyanese, while Amanda Edwards converted 13 points and Kenesia Cabral chipped in with 12 points for Wings. St Kitts had to dig deep to stave off a tough challenge from Wings, prevailing 54-47 in the keenly contested affair on Thursday night. The Kittitians were led by Alicia Wigley with 14 points and Carol Warner with 11 points. For Wings, Robertine Fredericks had 14 points, Kishorna Aubrey produced 11 points, and Edwards contributed 10 points. St Kitts trounced Combined Schools 74-40 in the opening game of the tournament on Wednesday. Dianne Palmer shot 21 points, Pamella Huggins produced 20 points and Jamilla Morton had 12 points for the Kittitians. Ladoo shot a game high 22 points for Combined Schools.
