Kurt Looby
Jean D'Arc Vichy Clermont Metropole (ProB) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old Antiguan international center Kurt Looby (210-109kg-84, college: Iowa, agency: Court Side). He played most recently at Anwil in Polish PLK league, but left the team in Nov.'15. In two games he recorded just 2.0ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.5bpg last season.
The previous (14-15) season Looby played at Panelefsiniakos in Greek A1 where in 16 games he averaged 8.9ppg and 8.7rpg (#3 in the league).
In 2008 he was drafted by Rio Grande Valley Vipers (D-League) in third round (44th overall).
Looby attended University of Iowa. It is his ninth season in pro basketball.
He received All-D-League Honorable Mention award back in 2009.
Looby also represented Antigua at the CBC Championships in Tortola (British Virgin Islands) two years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 5.8ppg, Reb-5 (8.7rpg), 1.2apg, 1.3spg, Blocks-4 (2.7bpg), FGP: 38.9%, FT: 36.8%.
Looby is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America) in five different countries. Looby has played previously professionally also in Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg and Telekom Baskets), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros, Caciques and Mets), Greece (Peristeri GS Athens) and D-League (N.Mexico T. and Maine Red Claws).
