ABBA Round 11: Cutie Ovals Ojays lose their first game against Stingerz - Feb 17, 2017

Coincidentally all hosts won their games.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Cutie Ovals Ojays (6-1) on the court of leader Stingerz on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by Stingerz 61-58. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Cutie Ovals Ojays. Cutie Ovals Ojays were trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 23-19 charge of Stingerz, which allowed them to win the game. Stingerz have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 4-0 record having five points less than leader Cutie Ovals Ojays. Defending champion Cutie Ovals Ojays still keep top position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
The game between Top Four teams took place in St.John's. Second ranked host Baldwin Braves (5-1) defeated 4th placed Flyers (3-2) 75-68. Baldwin Braves maintains second place with 5-1 record behind leader Cutie Ovals Ojays. Flyers at the other side keep the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with HS Outlaws. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Baldwin Braves - Flyers 75-68

The game between Top Four teams took place in St.John's. Second ranked host Baldwin Braves (5-1) defeated 4th placed Flyers (3-2) 75-68. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 18-14 Flyers' run in the last quarter cut the lead to 75-68 at the end of the game. Baldwin Braves dominated on the defensive end, holding Flyers to just 4 points in first quarter. Baldwin Braves maintains second place with 5-1 record behind leader Cutie Ovals Ojays. Flyers at the other side keep the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with HS Outlaws. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Malbas Oresund Malmo (Superettan) landed 30-year old American (has also Antiguan passport) point guard Jermelle Fraser (186-87, college: SUNY Maritime). The last time (15) he played at NH Ostrava in NBL league in Czech Republic. Fraser missed last season and had one year break from professional basketball.
Fraser played in the final of ECAC Tournament in 2009.
He is a very experienced player
