National 3x3 youth basketball team departs for St.Lucia this weekend - Feb 22, 2017

The Historic National 3x3 Youth Basketball Team, comprising of Judah Ferris, Sheldon Gomes, Eric Joseph, and Ahmani Browne, is set to depart this Friday to compete in the International Basketball Foundation (IBF) Lesser Antilles 3x3 International Youth Championships. The competition, slated for Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th, February 2017 will be held in St. Lucia, and will feature other countries such as, Aruba, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, France (Guadeloupe, Martinique), and the Netherlands (Curacao, Saint Maarten). The young men, who will represent Antigua and Barbuda, were afforded this opportunity after emerging victorious in the National 3x3 Qualifiers held last year. Meanwhile, Ahmani Brown, who represented another team in the National Qualifiers, was selected as the 4th player to complete the team. After months of intense practice, the team is confident that they will make their country proud, and return home with nothing less than the Gold. The Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) is encouraging the general public and stakeholders to support the youths on their journey to the IBF 3x3 International Youth Championships slated for this weekend.

ABBA Round 24: No surprise as #1 Cutie Ovals Ojays defeat Yorks Crushers - 5 hours ago
ABBA top team - Cutie Ovals Ojays (10-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Yorks Crushers (2-10) 77-53. The game was mostly controlled by Cutie Ovals Ojays. Yorks Crushers managed to win fourth quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. The game in was quite interesting. Third ranked Cutie Ovals Ojays (9-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Ottos (4-8). Cutie Ovals Ojays did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 81-62 on Thursday. The game without a history. ABBA Round 22: Stingerz keeps a leadership position - 6 days ago
Host teams show no mercy winning all games. The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Stingerz as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Stingerz defeated 6th ranked HS Outlaws at home 73-59. The game was mostly controlled by Stingerz. HS Outlaws managed to win second period 19-17.
