Gisela Vega (188-C-82, agency: Josep and Nicolas) will stay for at least one more year in Spain. The Argentinean center, with Spanish passport, penned a contract extension with Uni Girona for the 2011/12. Vega joined the club in February this tear from Mariana. She appeared 10 times in LFB with Girona averaging 11.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists. With Mariana she had 12.3 ppg, 8.2 rpg and 1.5 apg for 15 games last season. Vega played for Mariana from 2008 until February this year. In 2009/10 season she shined with 14.4 ppg and 7.5 rpg. Eurobasket awarded Gisela Vega with All-Spanish LFB Honorable Mention. In the past, she played for Tarbes, Real Canoe and again Mariana. Vega also played for the Argentinean National Team in 2006 and 2009.

Obras Basket led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Velez S. to an opponent 22.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.2 percent accuracy of the winners. Obras Basket forced 23 Velez S. turnovers. American Ronni Williams (183-F, agency: ProDep Management) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Union Florida and that's her to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 8. The forward had the game-high 25 points adding seven rebounds for Union Florida in her team's victory, helping them to crush Rocamora (#5, 2-8) with 24-point margin 80-56.
