USA entered the title game at the Olympic Games basketball tournament. They bruised Argentina in the semifinal battle tonight to set up the clash versus Spain on Sunday. Team USA jumped to a 15:4 lead midway through the opening quarter. But Emanuel Ginobili (6'6''-SG-77, agency: Interperformances), Scola and Nocioni returned Argentina in the game. They cut the deficit to just three points 15:18 late in the period. USA entered the second frame up by 5 points 24:19. Delfino drained back-to-back triples midway through the second term to keep Argentina within striking distance. LeBron James finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, while Carmelo Anthony (6'8''-SF-84, college: Syracuse) chipped in 18 points for the winners. Emanuel Ginobili replied with 18 points for Argentina. Luis Scola (6'9''-PF-80) and Carlos Delfino (6'7''-SF-82) had 15 points each in the loss.
