USA - Argentina 109:83

USA entered the title game at the Olympic Games basketball tournament. They bruised Argentina in the semifinal battle tonight to set up the clash versus Spain on Sunday. Kevin Durant (6'9''-SF-88, college: Texas) scored 19 points to lead the winners. Argentina will play versus Russia in the consolation final.
Team USA jumped to a 15:4 lead midway through the opening quarter. But Emanuel Ginobili (6'6''-SG-77, agency: Interperformances), Scola and Nocioni returned Argentina in the game. They cut the deficit to just three points 15:18 late in the period. USA entered the second frame up by 5 points 24:19. Delfino drained back-to-back triples midway through the second term to keep Argentina within striking distance. LeBron James (6'8''-SF-84) however answered with seven points in a row to make 37:27 for USA. Emanuel Ginobili capped the first half with a three-pointer to put Argentina within 7 points 40:47. Emanuel Ginobili drained another trey at the start of the second half but Team USA answered with 12:3 run to clear off. Kevin Durant connected twice from beyond the arc and LeBron James added a jumper as USA built a 72:53 lead with under two minutes to go in the third quarter. They entered the fourth quarter up by 17 points 74:57. USA opened the fourth frame with eight points in a row and never looked back cruising to the seventh win in a row at the tournament. LeBron James finished with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists, while Carmelo Anthony (6'8''-SF-84, college: Syracuse) chipped in 18 points for the winners. Emanuel Ginobili replied with 18 points for Argentina. Luis Scola (6'9''-PF-80) and Carlos Delfino (6'7''-SF-82) had 15 points each in the loss.
