International point guard Facundo Campazzo (179-PG-91) had a great game in the last round for top-ranked Penarol, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14. The 21-year old player was the main contributor (17 points, three rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Lanus (#2, 8-5) with 19-point margin 84-65. It allowed Penarol to consolidate first place in the Argentinian LigaA. Penarol have a solid 11-2 record. Campazzo has many years of experience at Penarol, through which he has constantly improved. Facundo Campazzo has solid league stats. He is league's best passer with 7.4apg. Campazzo is in league's top in and averages impressive 2.5spg and 56.7% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was 30-year old Alejandro Zilli (200-PF-82) of Sionista. Zilli had a very good evening with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Sionista lost that game 84-91 to slightly higher-ranked Quimsa (#4, 7-6). This loss caused Sionista to drop to 5th position in North. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Zilli is one of the most experienced players at Sionista and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Adrian Moss (203-F-81) of Union Progr. (#7). Moss scored 21 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Moss' great performance Union Progr. lost 75-88 to the higher-ranked Olimpico LB (#2, 10-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Union Progr. not to end season at such low position in North, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Moss could try to bring Union Progr.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Moss has a very solid season. In 7 games in Argentina he scored 12.6ppg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Gregory Lewis (200-F-78) of La Union - 28 points and 10 rebounds 5. Sam Clancy (202-C-80) of Olimpico LB - 14 points and 12 rebounds 6.
