Daniel Fitzgerald joins Akita Happinets, ex Obras - Dec 9, 2012

Akita Northern Happinets (BJ League) agreed terms with 28-year old American forward Daniel Fitzgerald (206-84, college: Marquette). He already started the season at Obras in Argentinian LigaA. In 8 games this season he had 6.4ppg and 2.6rpg. The last season Fitzgerald also played at Sendai 89ers. In 52 BJ League games last year he recorded very impressive stats: 18.5ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.4apg and 1.5spg.
Fitzgerald was named to Asia-Basket.com All-Japanese BJ League Honorable Mention in 2012.
The previous (10-11) season he played at ratiopharm Ulm in German BBL. In 10 games that season he recorded 8.3ppg and 1.0rpg.
He has played also professionally in Switzerland (SAM Massagno).
Fitzgerald is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
He attended Marquette University until 2008 and it will be his fifth season as a professional player.

Libertad S. - Olimpico LB 92-78 Libertad Sunchales rallied past Olimpico LB to open win count in the quarterfinal series. The game was mostly controlled by Libertad Sunchales. Olimpico de La Banda managed to win third quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Libertad Sunchales made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Atenas keep Bruno Labaque - May 26, 2016

Bruno Labaque(178-PG-77, agency: Interperformances) agreed on terms of contract extension with Atenas. The point guard will stay with the team for another season. Bruno Labaque has been playing for the team since 2010. He tallied 10.3 points, 4.4 assists and 2.2 rebounds per game last season. Bruno Labaque earned All-Argentinean LigaA Honourable Mention in 2015.   [read more]

Dwight Burke (ex Sarmiento F.) re-signs with Quimper - May 26, 2016

Quimper UJAP (NM1) inked 30-year old American forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette). He moved there from CD Faustino Sarmiento de Formosa in Argentinian TNA league where he played this season. In 14 games he recorded 11.7ppg, 8.1rpg and 1.1bpg. The most of last season Burke spent at Uppsala Basket (Basketligan) in Swedish league. In 26 games he averaged 14.4ppg and 6.8rpg. He helped them to make it to the final.
