American forward Edward Nelson (203-F-82, agency: Dream Team Management) had a great game in the last round for 9 de Julio, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9 (Second Stage).
The 30-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Libertad S. (#5, 13-7) 93-85. 9 de Julio is placed at 14th position in Argentinian LigaA. 9 de Julio is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. But it was their 15th lost game this season out of 22 games. Nelson turned to be 9 de Julio's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Connecticut star has very solid stats this year. Nelson is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.3ppg), rebounds (8th best: 7.6rpg) and averages impressive 54.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 32-year old American Sam Clancy (202-C-80) of Olimpico LB. Clancy had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 18 rebounds. Of course Olimpico LB cruised to a 76-64 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Wuber-Est.Bahia (#11, 9-11). This victory allowed Olimpico LB to move up to 4th position in . His team's 14-9 record is not bad at all. Clancy is a newcomer at Olimpico LB, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Daniel Santiago (216-C-76, agency: Priority Sports) of Boca Jrs (#9). Santiago scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Boca Jrs, leading his team to a 89-68 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Sionista (#10, 10-13). The chances of Boca Jrs ranking at the top of , however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Santiago could help Boca Jrs to bring them higher in the standings. Santiago has a very solid season. In 21 games in Argentina he scored 11.1ppg. He also has 5.9rpg and FGP: 57.9%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. William Graves (198-F/G-88) of Libertad S. - 24 points and 9 rebounds
5. Kavon Lytch (199-F-87) of Argentino - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
6. Fabian Ramirez (193-F-90) of Olimpico LB - 19 points and 6 rebounds
7. Nicolas Gianella (186-G-78) of La Union - 23 points and 3 assists
8. Robert Battle (204-C-81) of Lanus - 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Patricio Prato (196-G-79) of Lanus - 24 points
10. Nicolas Laprovittola (184-PG-90) of Lanus - 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
