We bring you last week's top performances from Argentinians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international small forward Andres Nocioni (199-79, currently plays in Spain). He led Caja Laboral to a 2-point victory over the league outsider Lagun Aro GBC (1-10) 71-69 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. Nocioni was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 14 rebounds in 33 minutes on the court. Caja Laboral Vitoria (8-3) is placed seventh in the ACB. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Nocioni's first year with the team. Nocioni belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #6 with 15.0ppg. He also averaged so far 6.1rpg, 2FGP: 56.7%(34-60), 3FGP: 64.3%(18-28) in the 10 games he played so far. Nocioni has a dual citizenship: Italian and Argentinian. Ex-Penarol Mar del Plata player is currently a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international power forward Luis Scola (206-80, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Phoenix Suns (7-15) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Scola's very good performance the Phoenix Suns were badly defeated 117-99 on the road by the Los Angeles Clippers. He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 10 rebounds. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Scola has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 12.9ppg, 6.9rpg, 1.6apg, 2FGP: 48.8% and FT: 81.6%. Scola is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Spanish. He is in the roster of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #3. The Argentinian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international shooting guard Emanuel Ginobili (198-77, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA). Ginobili led San Antonio Spurs to an easy victory against the Charlotte Bobcats (7-12) crushing them 132-102 in the NBA on Saturday night. He scored 11 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 7 assists in a mere 19 minutes. The San Antonio Spurs have quite an impressive 17-4 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Ginobili is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his 11th year in Spurs' roster. Ginobili has very impressive stats this season: 11.6ppg, 3.3rpg, 4.4apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 47.7%, 3FGP: 32.9% and FT: 81.5% in the 18 games. He has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities. Ginobili is also a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

Carlos Delfino

   #4. Small forward Carlos Delfino (200-82, currently plays in NBA) led Houston Rockets to a 2-point victory against the Los Angeles Lakers (9-12) 107-105 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. He scored 15 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Houston Rockets have 9-10 record this season. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Delfino has relatively good stats this season: 9.3ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.1apg. He also holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Delfino is also Argentinian national team player.

   #5. International point guard Pablo Prigioni (190-77, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Miami Heat (13-5) crushing them 112-92 in the NBA last Thursday. He recorded 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in only 13 minutes. The New York Knicks have a solid 15-5 record this season. This year Prigioni's overall stats are: 3.2ppg, 1.3rpg and 2.8apg in the 19 games. Similarly like Delfino and Ginobili above he holds both Italian and Argentinian passports. Prigioni plays currently for the Argentinian national team.

   #6. Swingman Patricio Garino (198-93, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the G.Washington in their last game. Despite Garino's very good performance the G.Washington lost 68-72 in Peoria, IL to the Bradley University. He scored 24 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 31 minutes. It's Garino's first season with the team. This year Garino has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.0apg and 1.4spg in the nine games. He is U19 international player as he played for the Argentinian team one years ago.

International point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (184-86, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to an easy victory against the 16th-ranked Tijuca TC (1-4) crushing them 101-75 in the Brazilian NBB on Thursday night. Figueroa scored 8 points and added 8 assists in 28 minutes. Vivo/Franca Basquete Sao Paulo (4-1) is placed second in the NBB. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Figueroa is currently first on the league's list of best blockers with 3.4bpg. This year his other stats are: 11.2ppg, 3.6rpg and 4.0apg in the five games. Figueroa is also Argentinian national team player.

Point guard Nicolas Richotti (181-86, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an CB Canarias' victory against the closely-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (2-9) 73-65 in the Spanish ACB on Sunday night. Richotti scored 9 points. Iberostar Canarias Tenerife (3-8) is placed 14th in the ACB. Richotti's total stats this season are: 8.5ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.4apg. He plays currently for the Argentinian national team.

Former U19 international guard Cristian Cortez (185-90, currently plays in Brazil) was not able to secure a victory for Mogi das Cruzes (1-4) in their game against Limeira (2-3) in the Brazilian NBB. Cortez scored 8 points and added 9 passes. The bottom-ranked Mogi das Cruzes was badly defeated 89-72 at home by the much higher-ranked Limeira (#9). It was Mogi das Cruzes' fourth consecutive loss in a row. Cortez is ranked seventh on the list of the best passers in the league. His total stats this season are: 9.2ppg, 2.2rpg and 4.4apg. Cortez used to play for the Argentinian U19 national team three years ago.

   #10. Guard Juan Fernandez (193-90, college: Temple, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help C.de Latte BRE (5-4) in their game against Upea CdO (3-7) in the Italian Lega2 (second division). Fernandez scored 5 points. C.de Latte BRE was crushed 97-72 in Capo d'Orlando by the lower-ranked Upea CdO (#13). Fernandez's total stats this season are: 5.6ppg, 2.4rpg, 3.0apg and 1.7spg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Argentinian National Team roster.

   #11. Former U17 international center Matias Bortolin (205-93, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Austria), who plays in the Austrian A Bundesliga couldn't help the league outsider Arkadia Lions (0-10) in their last game. Despite Bortolin's good performance the bottom-ranked Arkadia Lions were edged 76-74 on the opponent's court by the one of league's weakest teams (#10) St.Polten. He scored 14 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, passed 4 assists and added 3 blocks in 25 minutes. Bortolin is ranked second on the list of the best blockers in the league with 1.3bpg. He also averaged so far 11.2ppg, 6.8rpg, 3.1apg and 1.4spg in the nine games. Bortolin used to play for the Argentinian U17 national team two years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Argentinian passport but never been selected to any of Argentinian national teams:

   #1. Ariel Filloy (189-PG-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) was the major contributor in an AcegasAps TR's victory against the fourth-ranked Sigma Barcellona (7-3) 76-61 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) on Sunday night. He scored 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Acegas Aps Trieste (5-4) is placed ninth in the Lega2. This season Filloy has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.0apg and 1.4spg. He has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian. Despite Filloy's Argentinian passport, he previously played for the Italian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Argentinian team.

   #2. Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-F-81, currently plays in Italy) led Tezenis VE to an easy victory against the league outsider FCM Ferentino (1-8) 79-60 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) last Saturday. Ghersetti recorded 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Tezenis Verona (6-4) is placed sixth in the Lega2. Ghersetti's total stats this season are: 9.8ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.4apg and 2.1spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian.

   #3. Demian Filloy (198-F-82, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian SerieA could not help Trenkwalder RE (5-6) to beat Banco di Sardegna Sassari (9-2). He scored 6 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Trenkwalder RE was crushed 105-84 on the road by the second-ranked Banco di Sardegna Sassari. It was Trenkwalder RE's third consecutive loss in a row. Filloy's total stats this season are: 3.8ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.4spg. Similarly like Ghersetti and Filloy above he has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #4. Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-G-86, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) was not able to help Matera (10-3) in their last game. Despite Vico's good performance Matera lost 68-77 at home to the much lower-ranked (#12) Naturhouse Ferrara. He scored 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 39 minutes. It was Matera's first loss after four consecutive victories. Vico has reliable stats this year: 12.4ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.6apg and 3.1spg in the 13 games he played so far. Similarly like three previous players above, he also holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian.

   #5. Bernardo Musso (193-G-86, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) was not able to secure a victory for LeGamberi Foods Forlì (3-6) in their last game. Despite Musso's good performance LeGamberi Foods Forlì lost 71-76 in Capo d'Orlando to the lower-ranked (#13) Upea CdO. He was the second best scorer with 12 points. Musso also added 4 assists and 3 steals in 29 minutes. This year Musso's total stats are: 8.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.7apg and 1.4spg in the seven games. He has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #6. Albano Chiarastella (196-F-85, currently plays in Italy) led Agrigento to a victory over the 17th-ranked Recanati 69-62 in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) on Sunday night. He was the best player in that game. Chiarastella recorded 14 points in a mere 19 minutes. This year his total stats are: 7.8ppg and 4.8rpg in the four games. Similarly like all previous players above, Chiarastella has Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #7. Andres Forray (187-PG-86, currently plays in Italy) contributed to Pall.Trento's victory against the closely-ranked Tezenis VE 78-70 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) in Sunday night's game. He scored 12 points. Forray's total stats this season are: 7.9ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.6apg and 2.0spg. He has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #8. Pablo Bertone (193-G-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an Florida Atlantic's surprising victory against the Warner University crushing them 83-50 in the NCAA last Sunday. Bertone recorded 13 points in 20 minutes. This year his total stats are: 7.9ppg, 3.8rpg, 2.6apg and 2.0spg in the nine games.

   #9. Manuel Carrizo (198-F/G-80, another player represented by Players Group, currently plays in Italy) faced previously mentioned Mario Jose Ghersetti in the Italian Lega2 last game. Carrizo couldn't help FCM Ferentino in their game against Tezenis VE. He recorded 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 32 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 19 points 79-60. This year Carrizo's total stats are: 4.1ppg and 1.1rpg in the nine games. He has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #10. Alejandro Bortolussi (202-F-89, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Leche Rio Breogan in their game against Planasa NV in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division). Bortolussi recorded 8 points and had 3 steals. His team was edged 78-76. This season Bortolussi averages only 4.6ppg. He holds both Argentinian and Spanish passports.

Barrio Parque de Cordoba (TNA) tabbed American forward Arbry Butler (203-98kg, college: Wichita State). He just graduated from Wichita State (NCAA2). In 24 games he averaged impressive 15.5ppg, 9.3rpg, 1.7apg and 3.1bpg last season. Butler was selected to All-PeachBelt 3rd Team in 2016. Argentina - Croatia 97:78 Argentina ensured the winning start to Super 4 friendly tournament in Cordoba. They beat Croatia as Andres Nocioni (202-SF-79) scored 19 points. The hosts surged ahead early in the game. Argentina built a 23:10 lead ten minutes into the game. Croatia pulled within 12 points at halftime 45:33. Asociacion Quimsa Santiago del Estero (LigaA) signed 25-year old American forward Tristan Spurlock (203-104kg-91, college: Cent.Florida). He played last season at Alba in Hungarian A Division.
