Host teams show no mercy winning all games. There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most exciting game of round 10 in the LigaA took place in Junin. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Libertad Sunchales (13-8) to eighth ranked Argentino (12-11) 94-92 on Sunday evening. Libertad Sunchales trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 23-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 92-94 at the end of the game. Argentino made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Argentino outrebounded Libertad Sunchales 42-29 including 31 on the defensive glass. American forward Kavon Lytch (199-87, college: Oklahoma City, agency: Dream Team Management) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Fernando Funes (192-83) chipped in 24 points and 6 rebounds. The former international guard Diego Garcia (190-79) produced 26 points and 8 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for lost side. Newly promoted Argentino maintains eighth position with 12-11 record. Libertad Sunchales at the other side keeps the fifth place with eight games lost. Argentino are looking forward to face 9 de Julio (#14) in Rio Tercero in the next round where they are favorite. Libertad Sunchales will play at home against Quimsa (#6) in Santiado Estero and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Penarol (14-6) against fourth ranked Olimpico de La Banda (15-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Penarol was defeated by Olimpico de La Banda in a tough game in La Banda 74-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Penarol. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Ariel Pau (186-84) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Sam Clancy contributed with 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. International point guard Facundo Campazzo (179-91) replied with 16 points and 5 assists for Penarol. Olimpico de La Banda moved-up to third place. Defending champion Penarol dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Olimpico de La Banda will play against Atenas (#7) in Cordoba in the next round. Penarol will play on the road against Atenas in Cordoba and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Regatas Corrientes (15-6) against ninth ranked Boca Juniors (11-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Regatas Corrientes was defeated by Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires 81-68. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Regatas Corrientes. John DeGroat scored 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Tony Washam responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Regatas Corrientes' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Boca Juniors have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain ninth position with 11-11 record. Loser Regatas Corrientes keeps the second place with six games lost. Boca Juniors' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Buenos Aires Obras.

GECR Indalo lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Union Progresista's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked La Union (#16) in Formosa.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Rio Tercero, where higher ranked Quimsa (13-10) lost to fourteenth ranked 9 de Julio (8-15) in a road game 83-95 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quimsa. Enzo Ruiz fired 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. 9 de Julio's coach Sebastian Gonzalez used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. 9 de Julio have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourteenth position with 8-15 record. Loser Quimsa keeps the sixth place with ten games lost. 9 de Julio will face higher ranked Argentino (#8) in Junin in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.

In the last two games of round 10 Wuber-Est.Bahia was defeated by Atenas in Cordoba 93-89. Obras beat Sionista at home 90-81.

Union Progr. - GECR Indalo 82-79

A very interesting game took place in Villa Angela. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 12th ranked GECR Indalo (9-14) to thirteenth ranked Union Progresista (8-14) 82-79 on Sunday evening. It looked good early as GECR Indalo took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Union Progresista had a 19-14 second period charge getting the lead and GECR Indalo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 79-82. Union Progresista made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. British-American forward Darren Phillip (201-78, college: Fairfield) notched a double-double by scoring 31 points and 21 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Adrian Moss (203-81, college: Florida) supported him with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Even 29 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) by American guard David Jackson (196-82, college: Penn St.) did not help to save the game for GECR Indalo. Center Diego Romero (203-82, college: Florida St.) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Four GECR Indalo players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Union Progresista maintains thirteenth position with 8-14 record. GECR Indalo lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Union Progresista's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked La Union (#16) in Formosa.

Atenas - Wuber-Est.Bahia 93-89

There was no surprise in Cordoba where 11th ranked Wuber-Est.Bahia (9-12) was defeated by seventh ranked Atenas (12-10) 93-89 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Wuber-Est.Bahia was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Atenas made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Wuber-Est.Bahia outrebounded Atenas 38-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Wuber-Est.Bahia was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Javier Bulfoni (192-76) fired 28 points for the winners. The former international swingman Matias Lescano (196-79) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Penarol was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 41-36 second half run of Olimpico de La Banda. They dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Penarol's 24. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Ariel Pau (186-84) who helped to win the game recording 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American center Sam Clancy (202-80, college: USC) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. There was a surprise result in Buenos Aires where fifteenth ranked Obras (7-13) defeated higher ranked Sionista (10-14) 90-81 on Saturday. Sionista trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 27-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 81-90 at the end of the game. Obras shot 26 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Sionista only scored eight points from the stripe. They outrebounded Sionista 40-29 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Sionista was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. International power forward Juan Gutierrez (205-83) fired 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners (made all of his seven free throws). American power forward Ryan Humphrey (203-79, college: Notre Dame) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Obras players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Matias Sandes (201-84) produced 18 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Joshua Pittman (195-76, college: NC-Asheville, agency: Dream Team Management) added 14 points (made all of his eight free throws) respectively for lost side. Sionista's coach Sebastian Svetliza tested twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Obras maintains fifteenth position with 7-13 record. Loser Sionista keeps the tenth place with 14 games lost. Obras will face league's second-placed Regatas Corrientes at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
