We bring you last week's top performances from Argentinians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Carlos Delfino (200-82, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a Houston Rockets' victory against the Atlanta Hawks (20-12) 123-104 in the NBA in Monday night's game. Delfino recorded 22 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists in 30 minutes on the court. The Houston Rockets have 20-14 record this season. Delfino has relatively good stats this year: 9.5ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 46.8%, 3FGP: 37.7% and FT: 75.0% in the 25 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian. Delfino is currently a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international shooting guard Emanuel Ginobili (198-77, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA). He led San Antonio Spurs to an easy victory against the Philadelphia 76ers (15-20) crushing them 109-86 in the NBA last Saturday. Ginobili scored 19 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists. The San Antonio Spurs have a solid 27-9 record this season. It's Ginobili's 11th year with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Ginobili averages: 12.4ppg, 3.6rpg, 4.6apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 48.0%, 3FGP: 37.9% and FT: 82.9%. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Ginobili is in the roster of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #3. The Argentinian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Luis Scola (206-80, currently plays in NBA). He led Phoenix Suns to a victory over the Philadelphia 76ers (15-20) 95-89 in the NBA on Wednesday night. Scola was MVP of the game. He scored 21 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 9 assists in 34 minutes. The Phoenix Suns have not so impressive 12-23 record this season. Scola has very impressive stats this year: 12.9ppg, 6.2rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 48.1% and FT: 79.7% in the 35 games. He has both Argentinian and Spanish nationalities. Scola is also a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

Small forward Andres Nocioni (199-79, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a Caja Laboral's victory against the 16th-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (4-12) 84-77 in the Spanish ACB in Sunday night's game. He scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Caja Laboral Vitoria (13-3) is placed second in the ACB. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. This season Nocioni has relatively solid stats: 13.8ppg and 5.4rpg. He also holds two passports: Italian and Argentinian. Nocioni is also Argentinian national team player.

   #5. International point guard Pablo Prigioni (190-77, currently plays in NBA) helped New York Knicks win their game against the San Antonio Spurs (27-9) 100-83 in the NBA last Thursday. He recorded 6 points, 9 assists and 3 steals in 27 minutes. The New York Knicks have a solid 23-10 record this season. It's Prigioni's first year with the team. This year Prigioni's overall stats are: 3.3ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.9apg in the 32 games. He holds both Italian and Argentinian passports. Prigioni plays currently for the Argentinian national team.

Mainoldi, who plays in the Spanish ACB could not help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (4-12) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Baloncesto Fuenlabrada was defeated 84-77 on the road by the second-ranked Caja Laboral. Mainoldi was the top scorer with 25 points. Mainoldi is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in Baloncesto Fuenlabrada's roster. He is currently sixth on the list of best rebounders. Mainoldi has very reliable stats this season: 11.1ppg and 6.6rpg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Argentinian National Team roster.

International guard Juan Fernandez (193-90, college: Temple, currently plays in Italy) helped C.de Latte BRE win their game against the league leader Sigma Barcellona (10-4) crushing them 101-69 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) in Sunday night's game. Fernandez scored 18 points and added 6 passes in 35 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Centrale del Latte Brescia (7-6) is placed sixth in the Lega2. It's Fernandez's first year with the team. Fernandez is currently sixth on the list of best passers with 4.0apg. He also averaged so far 6.8ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.1spg in the 13 games. Fernandez is also Argentinian national team player.

   #8. Point guard Nicolas Richotti (181-86, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Iberostar Canarias Tenerife to win against the closely-ranked UCAM Murcia (6-10) 80-68 in the Spanish ACB in Saturday night's game. Richotti recorded 5 points. Iberostar Canarias Tenerife (6-10) is placed 12th in the ACB. Richotti's total stats this season are: 8.1ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.2apg. He plays currently for the Argentinian national team.

   #9. Former U19 international guard Cristian Cortez (185-90, currently plays in Brazil) was not able to help Mogi das Cruzes (8-9) in their game against Vila Velha (4-6) in the Brazilian NBB. He scored 6 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 23 minutes. Mogi das Cruzes lost 85-92 in Vila Velha to the much lower-ranked (#11) Vila Velha. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. This year Cortez's total stats are: 9.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.9apg in the 11 games. He used to play for the Argentinian U19 national team four years ago.

Swingman Patricio Garino (198-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the G.Washington in their game against the University of Georgia (0-0) in the NCAA. Garino recorded 9 points and had 3 steals (made all of his five free throws) in 30 minutes. But the G.Washington lost 41-52 in Athens, GA to the University of Georgia. Garino has averaged so far 9.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.9apg in the 11 games. He is a former U19 international player as two years ago he still played for the Argentinian national team.

   #11. Former international point guard Antonio Porta (187-83, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Givova Scafati in their game against FCM Ferentino in the Italian Lega2 (second division). Porta cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points and added 3 assists. His team was defeated 89-75. Porta has averaged so far 7.5ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.8apg and 2.5spg. He used to play for the Argentinian national team five years ago.

   #12. Former U17 international center Matias Bortolin (205-93, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Austria) couldn't help Arkadia Lions in their game against Raiffeisen Wels in the Austrian A Bundesliga. Bortolin recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks in 29 minutes. His team were badly defeated by 20 points 85-65. Bortolin belongs to league's best rebounders (ranked #6) and also on the list of best blockers (first place). This year he has very good stats: 10.9ppg, 7.2rpg, 3.0apg, 1.3bpg and 1.1spg in the 14 games. Bortolin used to play for the Argentinian U17 national team back in 2010.


The list of other players, who all have Argentinian passport but never been selected to any of Argentinian national teams:

   #1. Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-G-86, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy) led Matera to a victory over the 14th-ranked Mazzeo San Severo (6-10) 80-76 in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) last Sunday. He was the best player in that game. Vico scored 23 points and had 3 steals. Bawer Matera (13-4) is placed second in the Nazionale A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Vico is currently second on the league's list of most steals. This season he has very good stats: 13.5ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.4apg and 3.3spg. Vico has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #2. Ariel Filloy (189-PG-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) could not help AcegasAps TR (7-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance AcegasAps TR lost 66-81 on the road to the second-ranked Novipiu Casale. Filloy was the top scorer with 13 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 35 minutes. It's Filloy's first season with the team. Filloy has reliable stats this year: 11.0ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.9apg and 1.3spg in the 13 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Despite Filloy's Argentinian nationality, he previously played for the Italian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Argentinian team.

   #3. Bernardo Musso (193-G-86, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 3-point LeGamberi Foods Forlì's victory against the closely-ranked Pall.Trento (5-8) 87-84 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) in Sunday night's game. Musso scored 16 points. LeGamberi Foods Forli (7-6) is placed seventh in the Lega2. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Musso's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 9.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.8apg and 1.7spg. Similarly like Filloy and Vico above Musso has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #4. Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-F-81, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked AcegasAps TR (7-6) 67-51 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) last Sunday. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 27 minutes. Tezenis Verona (7-7) is placed ninth in the Lega2. This year Ghersetti's total stats are: 8.8ppg, 5.6rpg, 1.4apg and 1.6spg in the 14 games. Similarly like three previous players above, he also holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian.

   #5. Andres Forray (187-PG-86, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help Pall.Trento (5-8) in their game against Fileni BPA Jesi (5-8) in the Italian Lega2 (second division). Despite his good performance on Sunday night Forray recorded 12 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. Forray's total stats this season are: 7.2ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.5apg and 2.1spg. He has Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #6. Juan Ignacio Jasen (196-F-85, currently plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for UCAM Murcia in their game against CB Canarias in the Spanish ACB. Jasen recorded 8 points in 20 minutes. His team lost 68-80. This year Jasen's total stats are: 4.3ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.3apg in the 11 games. Similarly like all previous players above, he has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #7. Pablo Bertone (193-G-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to a Florida Atlantic's victory against the University Louisiana at Lafayette 75-70 in the NCAA last Thursday. Bertone scored 12 points and added 3 passes. Bertone's total stats this season are: 4.3ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.3apg.

   #8. Experienced Manuel Carrizo (198-F/G-80, also represented by Players Group, currently plays in Italy) helped FCM Ferentino win their game against the fourth-ranked Givova Scafati 89-75 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) on Sunday night. He recorded 14 points in a mere 15 minutes. This year Carrizo's total stats are: 5.1ppg and 1.5rpg in the 12 games. He has Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #9. Augustin Fabi (199-G/F-91, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Liomatic Viola Reggio Calabria in their game against Treviglio in the Italian Nazionale A (third division), despite his very good performance last Sunday. Fabi scored 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 30 minutes. But his team lost 74-87. This year Fabi's total stats are: 9.6ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg in the 16 games. He holds both Argentinian and Italian passports.

   #10. Agustin Ambrosino (203-F-90, currently studies in the States) managed to help Brigham Young University to win against the Loyola Marymount University crushing them 92-51 in the NCAA on Thursday night. Ambrosino scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Ambrosino's total stats this season are: 9.6ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg.

Maccabi Hunter Haifa (Winner League) inked 33-year old American power forward Rashaun Freeman (206-116kg-84, college: Massachusetts, agency: Pro Sports). He played recently at Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos in Argentinian LigaA, but left the team last month. In 34 games he averaged 10.6ppg, 5.2rpg and 1.3apg this season.
