Here is the weekly review of the top performing Argentinian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international shooting guard Emanuel Ginobili (198-77, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the San Antonio Spurs (29-11) in their last game. Despite Ginobili's very good performance the San Antonio Spurs lost 88-95 on the road to the New Orleans Hornets. He was the top scorer with 21 points. Ginobili also added 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line) in 25 minutes on the court. It's Ginobili's 11th season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Ginobili averages: 12.9ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.6apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 49.7%, 3FGP: 37.7% and FT: 83.6% in the 36 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian. Ginobili is currently a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international small forward Carlos Delfino (200-82, currently plays in NBA). He led Houston Rockets to a victory against the Los Angeles Lakers (16-21) 125-112 in the NBA last Tuesday. Delfino scored 19 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. He led Phoenix Suns to a victory over the Chicago Bulls (20-15) 97-81 in the NBA on Saturday night. Scola was MVP of the game. He recorded 22 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 28 minutes. The Phoenix Suns have not so impressive 13-26 record this season. They ended the series of five consecutive loses. Scola has very impressive stats this year: 13.2ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 48.2% and FT: 77.7% in the 39 games. He has both Argentinian and Spanish nationalities. Scola is also a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #4. Point guard Pablo Prigioni (190-77, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA was not able to help the New York Knicks (24-13) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance the New York Knicks were defeated 108-101 in Chicago by the Bulls. Prigioni scored 12 points, made 8 passes and 3 steals. It's Prigioni's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 3.6ppg, 1.6rpg and 3.1apg. Prigioni also holds two passports: Italian and Argentinian. He is also Argentinian national team player.

He scored 16 points, had 5 boards, passed 8 assists and added 4 steals; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Fernandez's third season in pro basketball. Centrale del Latte Brescia (8-6) is placed fifth in the Lega2. Fernandez is currently fifth on the list of best passers. His overall stats this season are: 7.4ppg, 2.7rpg, 4.3apg and 2.2spg. Fernandez is an international player who is currently on the senior Argentinian National Team roster.

International point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (184-86, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to a 1-point Franca's victory against the ninth-ranked Minas (6-6) 78-77 in the Brazilian NBB in Saturday night's game. He scored 10 points and added 6 passes in 33 minutes. Vivo/Franca Basquete Sao Paulo (9-8) is placed third in the NBB. Figueroa is currently third on the list of best blockers with 2.2bpg. He also averaged so far 7.5ppg, 2.8rpg and 4.4apg in the 13 games. Figueroa is also Argentinian national team player.

He used to play for the Argentinian national team five years ago.

Cortez recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Mogi das Cruzes was crushed 105-67 in Sao Jose by the second-ranked /Vinac. Cortez's overall stats this season are: 8.9ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.8apg. He is a former U19 international player as four years ago he still played for the Argentinian national team.

   #11. Former U19 international swingman Patricio Garino (198-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the St.Bonaventure University 78-59 in the NCAA last Wednesday. Garino scored 12 points and added 5 passes in 27 minutes. This year Garino's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 2.5rpg and 3.8apg in the 13 games. He used to play for the Argentinian U19 national team two years ago.

   #12. International forward Leonardo Mainoldi (203-85, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in their game against UCAM Murcia in the Spanish ACB. Mainoldi scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. His team lost 75-81. Mainoldi is ranked sixth on the list of the best rebounders in the league with 6.4rpg. He also averaged so far 10.8ppg in the 17 games. Mainoldi is also in the roster of the Argentinian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Argentinian passport but never been selected to any of Argentinian national teams:

   #1. Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-G-86, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy) led Matera to a victory over the 16th-ranked Mazzeo San Severo (6-11) 80-76 in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) last Sunday. He was the best player in that game. Vico scored 23 points and had 3 steals. Bawer Matera (13-4) is placed second in the Nazionale A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Vico is currently third on the league's list of most steals. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.5ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.4apg and 3.3spg. Vico has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #2. Ariel Filloy (189-PG-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Lega2 (second division) could not help AcegasAps TR (8-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance AcegasAps TR lost 66-81 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Novipiu Casale. Filloy was the top scorer with 13 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 35 minutes. Filloy has reliable stats this year: 11.1ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.7apg and 1.4spg in the 14 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Despite Filloy's Argentinian nationality, he previously played for the Italian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Argentinian team.

   #3. Pablo Bertone (193-G-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to a 3-point Florida Atlantic's victory against the Western Kentucky University (4-3) 65-62 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Bertone scored 15 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The Florida Atlantic University has 4-3 conference record this season. Bertone has reliable stats this year: 11.1ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.7apg and 1.4spg.

   #4. Bernardo Musso (193-G-86, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 3-point LeGamberi Foods Forlì's victory against the closely-ranked Pall.Trento (5-9) 87-84 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) last Sunday. He scored 16 points in 28 minutes. LeGamberi Foods Forli (7-7) is placed ninth in the Lega2. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Musso's overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.7apg and 1.8spg in the 12 games. He has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #5. Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-F-81, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked LeGamberi Foods Forlì (7-7) crushing them 89-60 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) in Sunday night's game. Ghersetti scored 11 points in a mere 18 minutes. Tezenis Verona (8-7) is placed eighth in the Lega2. This year Ghersetti's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.5spg in the 15 games. He also holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian.

   #6. Brian Savoy (192-SG-92, currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Starwings crushing them 109-83 in the Swiss LNA on Wednesday night. Savoy scored 15 points in 20 minutes. This year Savoy's overall stats are: 7.1ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.1apg in the 14 games. He has Argentinian and Swiss nationalities. Despite Savoy's Argentinian passport, he currently plays for the Swiss U20 national team and cannot be called to the Argentinian team.

   #7. Experienced Manuel Carrizo (198-F/G-80, also represented by Players Group, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 3-point FCM Ferentino's victory against the closely-ranked Fileni BPA Jesi 75-72 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) on Sunday night. Carrizo scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Carrizo's total stats this season are: 5.3ppg and 1.6rpg. He has Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #8. Andres Forray (187-PG-86, currently plays in Italy) faced previously mentioned Bernardo Musso in the Italian Lega2 last game. Forray was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Pall.Trento in their game against LeGamberi Foods Forlì. He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was edged 87-84. Forray's total stats this season are: 6.8ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.7apg and 2.1spg. He holds both Argentinian and Italian passports.

   #9. Demian Filloy (198-F-82, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) managed to help Trenkwalder Reggio Emilia in a victory against the 12th-ranked Vanoli Cremona 87-71 in the Italian SerieA on Sunday night. Filloy scored only 2 points in 19 minutes. This year his total stats are: 3.3ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.3spg in the 15 games. Similarly like Forray and Carrizo above Filloy has Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #10. Augustin Fabi (199-G/F-91, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a Liomatic Viola Reggio Calabria's surprising victory against the third-ranked Lucca 86-76 in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) in Sunday night's game. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Fabi's total stats this season are: 9.2ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.4spg. Similarly like three previous players above, he has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

Nautico Hacoaj Buenos Aires (Regional League) strengthened their roster with addition of 30-year old point guard Luciano Tantos (185-88). He played most recently at played at Atenas Carmen in Argentinian TNA league. In 31 games he recorded 6.5ppg, 3.7rpg, 3.1apg and 1.6spg last season. Instituto - Quimsa 97-93 Instituto held off Quimsa to open 2-0 advantage. Instituto made 29-of-34 free shots (85.3 percent) during the game.
