We bring you last week's top performances from Argentinians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international small forward Andres Nocioni (199-79, currently plays in Euroleague). He led his Spanish team Caja Laboral to a victory over the seventh-ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (0-4) crushing them 97-75 in the Euroleague in Friday night's game. Nocioni was MVP of the game. He recorded 19 points in 20 minutes on the court. Caja Laboral Vitoria (4-0) is placed first in group F. So far his team won all four games in the Top 16. It's Nocioni's first season with the team. Nocioni has relatively good stats this year: 10.6ppg, 3.2rpg, 2FGP: 53.6%, 3FGP: 28.2% and FT: 80.4% in the 14 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Italian and Argentinian. Ex-Penarol Mar del Plata player is currently a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international small forward Carlos Delfino (200-82, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Delfino could not help the Houston Rockets (21-21) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the Houston Rockets were defeated 105-95 on the road by the Indiana Pacers. Delfino recorded 17 points and added 5 assists. This season Delfino has relatively solid stats: 10.3ppg, 3.3rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 46.2%, 3FGP: 38.7% and FT: 79.2%. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Delfino is in the roster of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #3. The Argentinian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Luis Scola (206-80, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He was not able to help the Phoenix Suns (13-28) in their last game. Despite Scola's very good performance the Phoenix Suns lost 94-98 at home to the Milwaukee Bucks. He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Scola also added 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 32 minutes. Scola has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 13.1ppg, 6.4rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 47.8% and FT: 76.9% in the 41 games. Scola has both Argentinian and Spanish nationalities. He is also a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

Shooting guard Emanuel Ginobili (198-77, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves (17-20) 106-88 in the NBA in Sunday night's game. Ginobili scored 12 points and added 5 passes. The San Antonio Spurs have a solid 32-11 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Ginobili is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his 11th year in Spurs' roster. This season he has very high stats. Ginobili averages: 12.9ppg, 3.8rpg, 4.6apg and 1.4spg. He also holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Ginobili is also Argentinian national team player.

He scored 8 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 29 minutes. The New York Knicks have a solid 25-13 record this season. He scored 16 points, had 5 boards, passed 8 assists and added 4 steals; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Fernandez's third season in pro basketball. Centrale del Latte Brescia (9-6) is placed fifth in the Lega2. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Fernandez is currently third on the list of best passers. His total stats this season are: 8.1ppg, 2.7rpg, 4.5apg and 2.2spg. Fernandez is an international player who is currently on the senior Argentinian National Team roster.

International point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (184-86, also represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) helped Vivo/Franca win their game against the 15th-ranked Mogi (5-10) crushing them 95-59 in the Brazilian NBB last Saturday. Figueroa recorded 8 points and added 5 passes. Vivo/Franca Basquete Sao Paulo (9-8) is placed third in the NBB. Figueroa is ranked fifth on the list of the best blockers in the league. His total stats this season are: 7.4ppg, 2.9rpg, 4.4apg and 2.1bpg. Figueroa is also Argentinian national team player.

He plays currently for the Argentinian national team.

Despite Porta's good performance Givova Scafati was defeated 91-86 in Barcellona by the leading Sigma. He scored 10 points. Porta has averaged so far 7.7ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.2apg and 1.8spg. He used to play for the Argentinian national team five years ago.

Swingman Patricio Garino (198-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped G.Washington win their game against the University of Massachusetts (2-2) 79-76 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was his first game for G.Washington this season. His team has 2-2 conference record this season. Garino is a former U19 international player as two years ago he still played for the Argentinian national team.

   #11. International forward Leonardo Mainoldi (203-85, currently plays in Spain) helped Baloncesto Fuenlabrada win their game against the third-ranked Valencia Basket 72-69 in the Spanish ACB on Saturday night. Mainoldi scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Mainoldi is ranked seventh on the list of the best rebounders in the league. He has very reliable stats this season: 10.5ppg and 6.3rpg. Mainoldi plays currently for the Argentinian national team.

   #12. Former international forward Fabricio Vay (206-86, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Switzerland) couldn't help SAV Vacallo in their game against Neuchatel in the Swiss LNA. Vay cannot count Friday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. His team was defeated 71-60. Vay has averaged so far 1.5ppg and 2.0rpg. He used to play for the Argentinian national team back in 2009.

   #13. Former U17 international center Matias Bortolin (205-93, another player represented by Interperformances, currently plays in Austria) couldn't help Arkadia Lions in their game against Redwell Gunners Oberwart in the Austrian A Bundesliga. Bortolin recorded only 4 points. His team were crushed by 52 points 107-55. Bortolin is currently first on the list of best blockers. He has averaged so far 9.9ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2bpg. Bortolin used to play for the Argentinian U17 national team three years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Argentinian passport but never been selected to any of Argentinian national teams:

   #1. Andres Forray (187-PG-86, currently plays in Italy) led Pall.Trento to an easy victory against the league leader Sigma Barcellona (11-5) 89-70 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) in Sunday night's game. He recorded 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 32 minutes. Pallacanestro Trento 2009 (6-9) is placed tenth in the Lega2. It was his team's first victory after six consecutive loses. This year Forray's total stats are: 7.6ppg, 3.1rpg, 2.6apg and 2.1spg in the 15 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #2. Pablo Bertone (193-G-90, currently plays college basketball in the States) led Florida Atlantic to an easy victory against the Troy University (2-6) crushing them 80-59 in the NCAA on Thursday night. He scored 14 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 27 minutes. The Florida Atlantic University has 5-4 conference record this season. This year Bertone's total stats are: 7.4ppg, 2.9rpg, 4.4apg and 2.1bpg in the 15 games.

   #3. Ariel Filloy (189-PG-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) was the major contributor in an AcegasAps TR's victory against one of league's weakest teams Fileni BPA Jesi (5-10) 79-72 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) in Sunday night's game. He scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Acegas Aps Trieste (8-7) is placed eighth in the Lega2. Filloy has reliable stats this season: 10.7ppg, 3.2rpg, 2.7apg and 1.4spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Despite Filloy's Argentinian nationality, he previously played for the Italian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Argentinian team.

   #4. Mario Jose Ghersetti (201-F-81, currently plays in Italy) led Tezenis VE to an easy victory against the closely-ranked LeGamberi Foods Forlì (8-7) crushing them 89-60 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) on Sunday night. Ghersetti scored 11 points. Tezenis Verona (8-7) is placed seventh in the Lega2. Ghersetti has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.3apg and 1.5spg. He has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #5. Albano Chiarastella (196-F-85, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) could not help Agrigento (11-7) to beat Liomatic Viola Reggio Calabria (8-10). Chiarastella scored 8 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in 33 minutes. Agrigento was edged 66-65 at home by the much lower-ranked (#12) Liomatic Viola Reggio Calabria. Chiarastella has averaged so far 8.9ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.3apg and 1.9spg in the nine games. Similarly like Ghersetti and Filloy above he also holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian.

   #6. Experienced Manuel Carrizo (198-F/G-80, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy), who plays in the Italian Nazionale A (third division) was not able to help Latina Basket (5-14) in their last game. Despite Carrizo's very good performance Latina Basket was crushed 98-67 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#6) Treviglio. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Carrizo also added 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. It was his first game for Latina Basket this season. Similarly like three previous players above, Carrizo has Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #7. Bernardo Musso (193-G-86, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a LeGamberi Foods Forlì's victory against the closely-ranked Prima Veroli 84-73 in the Italian Lega2 (second division) last Sunday. He recorded 8 points and added 3 passes in 27 minutes. Musso has averaged so far 9.5ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.8apg and 1.7spg in the 13 games. He holds both Argentinian and Italian passports.

   #8. Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-G-86, also represented by Players Group, currently plays in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for Matera in their game against Omegna in the Italian Nazionale A (third division). He scored 8 points and had 3 steals in 27 minutes. His team was badly defeated by 17 points 61-44. Vico belongs to league's most steals and is ranked #3 with 3.3spg. He also averaged so far 13.2ppg, 4.2rpg and 2.3apg in the 18 games. Similarly like five previous players above, Vico has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #9. Augustin Fabi (199-G/F-91, currently plays in Italy) faced previously mentioned Albano Chiarastella in the Italian Nazionale A last game. Fabi helped Liomatic Viola Reggio Calabria edge the fourth-ranked Agrigento 66-65. He scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Fabi has averaged so far 9.0ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.3apg and 1.5spg. He holds both Argentinian and Italian passports.

   #10. Juan Ignacio Jasen (196-F-85, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help UCAM Murcia in their game against Cajasol in the Spanish ACB. Jasen cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 6 minutes on the court. His team lost 73-81. Jasen has averaged so far 3.8ppg, 1.7rpg and 1.1apg in the 13 games. Similarly like seven previous players above, he has Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

Malvin Montevideo (LUB) inked 33-year old American forward Jazwin Cowan (203-107kg-83, college: Hampton, agency: DTMones). He played most recently at Instituto in Argentinian LigaA. In 54 games he averaged impressive 16.1ppg and 7.6rpg last season. A very good year in his career as he was selected to Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian LigaA Honorable Mention. 26-year old swingman Bruno Barovero (194-G/F-90) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Union SF and receives a Latinbasket.com TNA Player of the Week award for round 15. He had the game-high 36 points adding six rebounds for Union SF in his team's victory, helping them to beat Salta Basket (#5, 6-7) 101-92. Best Player of the Year award back in 2011. He is a very experienced player. Harper has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America).
