Host teams show no mercy winning all games.

The game between third ranked Penarol (19-10) and eighth ranked Quimsa (16-14) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Penarol was crushed by Quimsa in Santiado Estero 60-94. The game without a history. Quimsa led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Quimsa outrebounded Penarol 44-23 including a 34-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Penarol helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American center James Williams (204-79, college: Brown Mackie, agency: Dream Team Management) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Italian center Damian Tintorelli (204-81) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Brazilian center Lucas Tischer (208-83) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds for Penarol. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quimsa moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Argentino. Defending champion Penarol keeps the third position with ten games lost. Quimsa is looking forward to face Wuber-Est.Bahia (#12) in Bahia Blanca in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Penarol will play on the road against Libertad Sunchales (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Lanus (20-10) against fifteenth ranked Obras (9-20) on Friday night. Visiting Lanus was crushed by Obras in Buenos Aires 87-68. It was a great evening for international power forward Juan Gutierrez (205-83) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Tyler Field helped adding 14 points. At the losing side American forward William McFarlan (201-76, college: St.Thomas Aquinas, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Obras maintains fifteenth place with 9-20 record. Lanus at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost. Obras will play against higher ranked GECR Indalo (#11) in Comodoro R. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lanus' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Buenos Aires to the arena Boca Juniors.
LigaA top team - Regatas Corrientes (22-8) managed to deliver another win on Friday. This time they beat ninth ranked Atenas (15-16) 86-77. It was a quality performance for Jerome Meyinsse who led the winners and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). Mariano Fierro came up with 13 points and 9 rebounds for Atenas in the defeat. Regatas Corrientes maintains first place with 22-8 record. Loser Atenas keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Sionista. Regatas Corrientes will meet at home Olimpico de La Banda (#5) in the next round. Atenas will play against Sionista (#9) in Parana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Olimpico de La Banda (18-13) and Sionista (15-16), which took place in Parana. 4th placed Olimpico de La Banda lost to eleventh ranked Sionista in a road game 84-92. Matias Sandes fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Sionista moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Atenas. Olimpico de La Banda at the other side dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. Sionista's next round opponent will be Atenas (#10) in Cordoba. Olimpico de La Banda will play on the road against the league's leader Regatas Corrientes (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.

Other games in round 19 were not that significant. Wuber-Est.Bahia was beaten by Libertad S. on the road 87-83. Boca Jrs won against GECR Indalo on its own court 87-79. Bottom-ranked La Union was outscored by 9 de Julio in Rio Tercero 93-70.

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Libertad Sunchales (18-11) beat at home 12th ranked Wuber-Est.Bahia (12-16) 87-83. 9 de Julio - La Union 93-70

Rather predictable result when fourteenth ranked 9 de Julio (10-20) rolled over bottom-ranked La Union (8-23) in Rio Tercero 93-70. The game without a history. 9 de Julio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 26-of-28 charity shots (92.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for 9 de Julio especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by La Union helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Edward Nelson (203-82, college: Connecticut, agency: Dream Team Management) fired 19 points for the winners. Forward Enzo Ruiz (193-88, agency: Dream Team Management) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. American forward Gregory Lewis (200-78, college: Winthrop, agency: Dream Team Management) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. 9 de Julio maintains fourteenth place with 10-20 record. La Union at the other side stay at the bottom position with 23 games lost. 9 de Julio's next round opponent will be higher ranked Union Progresista (#13) in Villa Angela and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
