Levy is back at Lanus - Feb 1, 2013

Jamaal Levy
Lanus Buenos Aires (LigaA) signed 30-year old Panamanian international center Jamaal Levy (206-83, college: Wake Forest). Its actually his comeback to Buenos Aires as he played here before. Levy played at Ciclista Olimpico de La Banda (LigaA). In 9 games this season he had 4.8ppg and 4.8rpg. He also played at Libertad Sunchales earlier that season. In 6 LigaA games this year he recorded 6.0ppg, 8.3rpg and 1.7apg. The last summer Levy played at Libertad (National League) in Paraguayan league. He helped them to make it to the final. A very impressive season as he was voted Metropolitan League Defensive Player of the Year. The other team Levy played that season for was Lanus. In 49 LigaA games last season he recorded 8.0ppg and 5.8rpg. Quite impressive season as he was named to Argentinian LigaA All-Star Game.
In 2005 he was drafted by Westchester Wildfire (USBL) as #3 pick overall.
Levy attended Wake Forest University and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
His team won ACCC Regular Season in 2003.
Levy was also a member of Panamanian international program for some years. He played for Panamanian Senior National Team between 1999 and 2009 and previously for U21 National Team in 2000. Levy represented Panama at the Panamerican Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) six years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 5.0ppg, 4.0rpg.
Levy is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Uruguay (Bigua), Venezuela, Paraguay (Sol de America) and Panama (Magnates, Rio Abajo and Chepo).
Levy could be described: A sleek, agile forward with great timing... an excellent shot blocker who can also step out and hit the three-pointer. runs the court well.

Battle comes back to Marinos, ex Lanus - May 23, 2013

Marinos de Anzoategui (LPB) added to their roster 32-year old American center Robert Battle (204-104kg-81, college: Drexel, agency: Dream Team Management). It is actually his comeback to Puerto La Cruz as he played here before. Battle just played at Lanus in Argentinian LigaA. In 51 games he recorded 11.9ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.4apg and 1.5bpg this season. Julian Chiera is the new argentinean player in the NCAA - May 23, 2013

Julian Chiera (196-G/F-91) will be the 4th argentinean to play in NCAA next year. Julian will join University of Southeastern Louisiana in the division I. Julian started to play basketball in club Barrio Parque of Cordoba, Argentina, and then moved to Brazil. He played last two years in Laramie Comunity College.
