Carlos
Delfino
Aerochaco Boca Juniors Capital Feder (LigaA) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 35-year old Argentinian international small forward Carlos Delfino (198-104kg-82). He played most recently at LA Clippers in the NBA. Delfino also spent pre-season at the Bucks in NBA that year.
In 2003 he was drafted by Detroit Pistons (NBA) in first round (25th overall).
Among other achievements Delfino played in the final of Russian A Superleague in 2009. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Olympic Games Honorable Mention award back in 2012.
Delfino has been also a member of Argentinian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Argentinian senior team since 2003 and previously for U21 National Team between 2000 and 2001.
Delfino also represented Argentina at the Olympic Games in London (United Kingdon) five years ago. His team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 8 games: 15.3ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.6apg, FGP: 62.5%, 3PT: 35.2%, FT: 65.2%.
Delfino is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America) in five different countries. Delfino has played previously professionally in Italy (Reggio C. Vis and Fortituto Kontatto Bologna), Spain, NBA (Houston Rockets and Toronto Raptors), Argentina (Olimpia Venado Tuerto Santa Fe and La Union) and Russia (Khimky).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Boca Jrs.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Has shooting range of more than 8 metres, some which could allow him to play even the 2 position in future, but now he plays forward 3 or 4, because is yet enough strong to battle under tthe boards, but above all he has the typical mental skills of S.American players, never surrenders. Mostly a scorer and able to play both wing spots, but not a great shooter with range, yet. He is still very young and has a big upside.
