There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked San Martin Corrientes (26-10) in Concordia on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Estudiantes C. (26-13) 83-78. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of San Martin Corrientes. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of Italian swingman Anibal Marin (199-82) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and American-Jordanian Dar Tucker (193-88, college: De Paul) who added 19 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was American power forward Jeremiah Wood (200-85, agency: Inception Sports) with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Estudiantes C. maintains second position with 26-13 record having just three point less than leader San Lorenzo. San Martin Corrientes at the other side still keeps top place with ten games lost. Estudiantes C. are looking forward to face Atenas (#9) in Cordoba in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Martin Corrientes will play at home against GECR Indalo (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Cordoba. Fifth ranked Obras Basket (18-20) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 3rd ranked Instituto (23-15) 97-95 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Instituto. The winners were led by the former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) who scored that evening 30 points and Tomas Zanzottera supported him with 24 points and 4 assists. Obras Basket's coach Nicolas Casalanguida allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists by American swingman Rodney Green (196-88, college: La Salle) did not help to save the game for Instituto. Obras Basket maintains fifth position with 18-20 record. Instituto at the other side keeps the third place with 15 games lost. Obras Basket will play against league's leader San Lorenzo in Almagra in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Instituto will have a break next round.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Ferrocarril (23-12) against fourth ranked GECR Indalo (19-18) on Tuesday night. Visiting Ferrocarril was defeated by GECR Indalo in Comodoro R. 94-80. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ferrocarril. The best player for the winners was Carlos Schattmann who scored 24 points and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Ramon Clemente who recorded 8 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GECR Indalo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 19-18 record. Loser Ferrocarril keeps the second place with 12 games lost. GECR Indalo will meet Regatas Corrientes (#4) on the road in the next round. Ferrocarril's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Buenos Aires Boca Juniors.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Estudiantes C. (26-13) against sixth ranked Olimpico de La Banda (20-18) on Monday night. Visiting Estudiantes C. was crushed by Olimpico de La Banda in La Banda 82-49. It was a good game for Federico Van-Lacke who led his team to a victory with 24 points (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpico de La Banda have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 20-18 record. Estudiantes C. at the other side keeps the second place with 13 games lost. Olimpico de La Banda's next round opponent will be Libertad Sunchales (#7) at home. Estudiantes C. will play against Atenas (#9) and hope to win that game.
LigaA top team - San Martin Corrientes (26-10) added another victory to their record on Tuesday. This time they beat tenth ranked Echague (6-31) in Parana 79-74. Worth to mention a quality performance of Leonardo Mainoldi who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. San Martin Corrientes have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 26-10 record. Echague lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 31 games lost. San Martin Corrientes will face GECR Indalo (#4) in Comodoro R. in the next round. Echague will play at home against Atenas (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 36: Regatas C. was destroyed by Hispano Am. on the opponent's court 92-67. Olimpico LB managed to outperform Libertad S. in a home game 67-61. Boca Jrs recorded a loss to Quilmes MP on the road 102-100. Penarol defeated Boca Jrs on its own court 89-71. Obras Basket was smashed by Atenas in Cordoba 90-71.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 18 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists by Bruno Labaque of Atenas.

Hispano Am. - Regatas C. 92-67

There was an upset in Rio Gallegos where higher ranked Regatas Corrientes (20-13) was crushed by tenth ranked Hispano Am. (12-27) 92-67 on Thursday. The game without a history. Hispano Am. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Hispano Am. outrebounded Regatas Corrientes 44-22 including a 33-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Hispano Am. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Mariano Byro (194-82) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and forward Mariano Fierro (200-86) who added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Hispano Am. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was the former international Paolo Quinteros (188-79) with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St., agency: Pensack Sports) scored 14 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hispano Am. moved-up to ninth place. Loser Regatas Corrientes keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. Hispano Am. will face higher ranked Argentino (#6) in Junin in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Regatas Corrientes will play at home against GECR Indalo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Libertad Sunchales won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Bahamas forward David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and 6 rebounds and the former international Federico Van-Lacke (191-80) who added 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. Not a big story in a game in Mar del Plata where 9th ranked Boca Juniors (11-27) was edged by seventh ranked Quilmes MP (16-19) 102-100 on Wednesday. Strangely Boca Juniors outrebounded Quilmes MP 50-36 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Boca Juniors was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and international power forward Ivan Basualdo (202-90) who added 14 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Quilmes MP's coach Javier Bianchelli used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and Panamanian-American swingman Gary Forbes (201-85, college: Virginia) scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.
