There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked San Lorenzo (27-12) in Buenos Aires on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Ferrocarril (26-14) 70-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of San Lorenzo. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But San Lorenzo won third quarter 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Ferrocarril won last quarter 21-18. It was a great evening for American center Andrew Feeley (206-83, college: UMBC) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points and 5 rebounds. Martin Cuello (193-93) helped adding 13 points. Ferrocarril's coach Alvaro Castineira used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was the former international Marcos Mata (201-86) with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Ferrocarril maintains second place with 26-14 record having just two points less than leader San Lorenzo. Defending champion San Lorenzo still keeps top position with 12 games lost. Ferrocarril are looking forward to face Regatas Corrientes (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San Lorenzo will play against Obras Basket and is hoping to win this game.
Sixth-ranked Argentino (19-21) gave a tough game to third ranked Regatas Corrientes (24-14) in Junin. The visitors from Corrientes managed to secure only three-point victory 87-84. However their fans expected easier game. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Paolo Quinteros (188-79) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 5 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Chevon Troutman accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Regatas Corrientes' coach Gabriel Piccato allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American guard Novar Gadson (201-89, college: Rider, agency: DTMones) came up with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Argentino in the defeat. Regatas Corrientes maintains third place with 24-14 record having six points less than leader San Lorenzo. Argentino at the other side keeps the sixth position with 21 games lost. Regatas Corrientes will play against league's second-placed Ferrocarril in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Argentino will play on the road against Quilmes MP (#7) in Mar del Plata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Formosa between La Union and Penarol. Eighth ranked La Union (19-22) got a very close home victory over 8th ranked Penarol (16-27). La Union managed to escape with a 3-point win 73-70 in the game for the eighth place. The best player for the winners was Facundo Pinero who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Roberto Acuna who recorded 17 points. Penarol's coach Marcelo Richotti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. La Union maintains eighth place with 19-22 record which they share with defeated Penarol. Loser Penarol keeps the eighth position with 27 games lost. La Union will meet higher ranked Weber Bahia (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Penarol will play against Argentino (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Estudiantes C. (29-14) against fourth ranked Instituto (24-18) on Sunday night. Visiting Estudiantes C. was defeated by Instituto in a tough game in Cordoba 69-76. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Estudiantes C.. It was a good game for Rodney Green who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Instituto maintains fourth place with 24-18 record. Estudiantes C. at the other side keeps the second position with 14 games lost. Instituto's next round opponent will be Quimsa (#6) in Santiado Estero. Estudiantes C. will play on the road against Atenas (#9) in Cordoba and hope to win that game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Concordia. Second ranked host Estudiantes C. (29-14) defeated 4th placed Instituto (24-18) 78-71. It was a great evening for Dar Tucker who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Estudiantes C. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 29-14 record having just four point less than leader San Lorenzo. Instituto lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 18 games lost. Estudiantes C. will face Atenas (#9) in Cordoba in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Instituto will play on the road against Quimsa (#6) in Santiado Estero and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 39: Quilmes MP lost to Hispano Am. on the opponent's court 83-92. Boca Jrs managed to outperform Quimsa in a home game 98-92. Quilmes MP recorded a loss to Ferrocarril on the road 76-69. Libertad S. was defeated by Estudiantes C. on its own court 72-81. Quimsa was smashed by Obras Basket in Buenos Aires 116-89. San Martin C. won against Penarol at home 71-65. Atenas was outscored by Olimpico LB on the opponent's court 96-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 12 points and 14 rebounds by Sam Clancy of Instituto.

Hispano Am. - Quilmes MP 92-83

There was a minor upset in Rio Gallegos where 7th ranked Quilmes MP (18-21) was defeated by tenth ranked Hispano Am. (13-29) 92-83 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-19. But Quilmes MP won second period 30-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hispano Am. made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Hispano Am. outrebounded Quilmes MP 36-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Mariano Fierro (200-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. American Larry O'Bannon (192-83, college: Louisville, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hispano Am. players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was international power forward Ivan Basualdo (202-90) with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and international guard Luca Vildoza (190-95) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Newly promoted Hispano Am. maintains tenth place with 13-29 record. Loser Quilmes MP keeps the seventh position with 21 games lost. Hispano Am. will face Echague (#10) in Parana in the next round.

It was a great evening for Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Panamanian-American swingman Gary Forbes (201-85, college: Virginia) helped adding 19 points and 7 rebounds.
