Chris
Daniels
Asociacion Quimsa Santiago del Estero (LigaA) strengthened their roster with addition of 33-year old American center Chris Daniels (205-120kg-84, college: Texas A&M-CC). He played at Sonic Boom KT in South Korean KBL league.
The most of last season Daniels spent at Al Riyadi (Pepsi LBL) in Lebanese league where in 34 games he recorded 13.9ppg, 8.4rpg and 1.6apg. He helped them to win the league title (twice) (also twice). Daniels also spent pre-season at the Nets in NBA earlier that year.
In 2011 (three years after he left the college) Daniels was drafted by Erie BayHawks (D-League) in first round (9th overall).
He attended Texas A&M - Corpus Christi until 2008 and it is his ninth season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Daniels received All-Southland Conf. Player of the Year award and NABC All-NCAA District 9 2nd Team award back in 2007 at his college time.
Daniels is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in China (Guandong Tigers and Flying Leopards), Jordan (ASU), Puerto Rico, D-League (Santa Cruz Warriors and Erie Bay Hawks) and Lebanon (Sagesse).
The scouts decsribe him following way: Unique big man who can bang down low, rebound, block shots yet step out to the three point line and consistently hit shots (shot 38% from 3 over his 4 year college career). Runs the court well for a big man his size, is adept at the screen and roll and is very coachable. NBA prospect who could be an outstanding overseas player.
