Chris
Daniels
32-year old center Chris Daniels (205-C-84) had an amazing evening in the last round for Quimsa and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 41.
He had a double-double of 23 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Penarol (#8, 17-30) 65-64. Quimsa maintains the 6th position in their group in Argentinian league. Quimsa is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 23-23 record. In the team's last game Daniels had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Quimsa, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Chris Daniels averages just after three games 18.0ppg and 8.3rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Fotios Lampropoulos (206-PF-83) of Boca Jrs. He is Greek forward in his first season at Boca Jrs. In the last game Lampropoulos recorded impressive double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds. Bad luck as Boca Jrs was edged by the higher-ranked Instituto (#4, 26-20) 87-83. Boca Jrs managed to keep the same 10th spot in Sur. 32 lost games are too many comparing to just thirteen victories Boca Jrs managed to get this year. Lampropoulos is a newcomer at Boca Jrs and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-C-88) of Weber Bahia (#3). Johnson scored 25 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Johnson's great performance Weber Bahia lost 80-82 to #3 ranked Regatas C.. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Weber Bahia needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams in Norte. Their record is 23 victories and 16 lost games. Johnson has a great season in Argentina. After 38 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.8rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Gelvis Solano (185-G-94) of Echague - 29 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Juan Brussino (185-PG-91) of Libertad S. - 24 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Javier Justiz (205-C-92) of Estudiantes C. - 23 points and 15 rebounds
7. Justin Williams (206-F/C-84) of Olimpico LB - 16 points and 11 rebounds
8. Jerome Meyinsse (207-C-88) of San Lorenzo - 20 points and 7 rebounds
9. Dennis Horner (205-F-88) of Obras Basket - 25 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Lucio Redivo (183-G-94) of Weber Bahia - 16 points, 3 rebounds and 9 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

TFB Round 14 of Regular Season - 2 days ago
The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position, derby games, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. TFB round 14 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Lanus (7-2) against third ranked RC Avellaneda (7-2) 79-56 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Lanus. It was a key game for the second pos...   [read more]
