Justiz
24-year old center Javier Justiz (205-C-92, agency: Pro Sports) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Estudiantes C. and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 44.
He had a double-double of 22 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat Hispano Am. (#9, 17-31) 75-67. Estudiantes C. maintains the 2nd position in their group in Argentinian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Estudiantes C. will need more victories to improve their 32-16 record. It's Justiz's second year at Estudiantes C. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Justiz has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 8.9rpg) and averages solid 2.1bpg and 52.6% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Roquez Johnson (201-F/C-92) of Atenas. He is American forward in his first season at Atenas. In the last game Johnson recorded impressive double-double of 21 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Atenas lost that game 66-77 to the higher-ranked Ferrocarril (#2, 31-16). Atenas managed to keep the same 9th spot in Sur. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 18-27 record. Johnson is a newcomer at Atenas and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Anthony Laveal Johnson (203-C-88) of Weber Bahia (#3). Johnson scored 17 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Weber Bahia, leading his team to a 88-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Echague (#10, 8-38). Weber Bahia needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Norte. Their record at this point is 25 victories and 18 lost games. Johnson has a great season in Argentina. After 42 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.5rpg (4th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Donald Sims (185-G-87) of Regatas C. - 26 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Jonathan Maldonado (188-G-90) of Ferrocarril - 29 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Carlos Delfino (198-SF-82) of Boca Jrs - 27 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
7. Josimar Ayarza (205-F-87) of Echague - 18 points and 8 rebounds
8. Jeremiah Massey (202-F-82) of Libertad S. - 24 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Alejandro Diez (201-PF-87) of Penarol - 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Justin Williams (206-F/C-84) of Olimpico LB - 15 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
