The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked San Lorenzo as it allowed them to take a leadership position. San Lorenzo smashed 10th ranked Echague in Almagra 96-67. The game was mostly controlled by San Lorenzo. Echague managed to win third quarter 28-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. San Lorenzo looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Echague's players. The former international Marcos Mata (201-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international point guard Nicolas Aguirre (188-88) chipped in 15 points and 14 assists. The best for the losing side was American center Derrick Caracter (206-88, college: UTEP) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Echague lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with 40 games lost. Echague will play next round against strong Ferrocarril trying to get back on the winning streak. San Lorenzo will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Quilmes MP in Mar del Plata.
Leading Ferrocarril (32-17) recorded its seventeenth loss in Buenos Aires. Hosts were defeated by eighth ranked Penarol (20-31) 80-63. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ferrocarril. American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (196-89, college: W.Kentucky, agency: HMS) nailed 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Alejandro Diez accounted for 6 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. International point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) came up with 10 points and 8 assists for Ferrocarril in the defeat. Ferrocarril's coach Alvaro Castineira rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Penarol maintains eighth place with 20-31 record. Ferrocarril at the other side dropped to the second position with 17 games lost. Penarol will play against higher ranked GECR Indalo (#4) in Comodoro R. in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ferrocarril will play on the road against Echague in Parana and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Sixth-ranked Quimsa (24-27) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Olimpico de La Banda (28-22) on Saturday. Olimpico de La Banda managed to secure only one-point victory 89-88. However their fans expected easier game. The best player for the winners was Justin Williams who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was Reggie Hamilton who recorded 27 points. Olimpico de La Banda moved-up to fourth place. Loser Quimsa keeps the sixth position with 27 games lost. Olimpico de La Banda will meet at home GECR Indalo (#4) in the next round. Quimsa will play against Regatas Corrientes and hope to secure a win.
LigaA top team - San Martin Corrientes (35-13) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked Argentino (24-24) in Junin 78-65. It was a good game for Leonardo Mainoldi who led his team to a victory with 26 points and 8 rebounds. San Martin Corrientes maintains first place with 35-13 record. Argentino at the other side keeps the fifth position with 24 games lost. San Martin Corrientes' next round opponent will be Instituto (#5) in Cordoba. Argentino will play at home against Libertad Sunchales and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 45: Weber Bahia won against Echague on the opponent's court 91-75. Atenas unfortunately lost to Quilmes MP in a home game 97-102. La Union was rolled over Obras Basket on the road 77-102. Quimsa was defeated by Regatas C. on its own court 73-81. Penarol was beaten by Boca Jrs in Buenos Aires 82-77. Instituto lost to Quilmes MP at home 68-84. La Union unfortunately lost to Ferrocarril on the opponent's court 69-73.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by Paolo Quinteros of Regatas C..

Echague was better in second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Weber Bahia forced 20 Echague turnovers. International guard Lucio Redivo (183-94) stepped up and scored 28 points and 4 steals for the winners and American center Anthony-Laveal Johnson (203-88, college: Fairfield) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds. Weber Bahia's coach Sebastian Ginobili used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Atenas trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 14 after three quarters before a 38-29 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 97-102 at the end of the game. Quilmes MP looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American Tracy Robinson (201-86, college: Loyola, IL) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and guard Eric Flor (186-93) chipped in 27 points and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was American power forward Roquez Johnson (201-92, college: Mississippi St.) with 27 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Mateo Chiarini (186-98) scored 26 points and 5 assists. Not a big story in a game in Buenos Aires where 8th ranked La Union (21-30) was rolled over by sixth ranked Obras Basket (24-24) 102-77 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Obras Basket. La Union was better in fourth quarter 27-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Obras Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to La Union's 26. They outrebounded La Union 34-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. Obras Basket shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 51.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international forward Walter Herrmann (206-79) stepped up and scored 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Dennis Horner (205-88, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 15 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). There was a minor upset in Buenos Aires where 8th ranked Penarol (20-31) was defeated by tenth ranked Boca Juniors (15-33) 82-77 on Monday. Penarol trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 19 after three quarters before a 30-16 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 77-82 at the end of the game. Boca Juniors dominated on the defensive end, holding Penarol to just 7 points in first quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Penarol's 38. Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) stepped up and scored 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international Carlos Delfino (198-82) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (196-89, college: W.Kentucky, agency: HMS) with 16 points and the other American import guard Louis Dabney (190-93, college: Tulane) scored 14 points. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Boca Juniors maintains tenth place with 15-33 record. Loser Penarol keeps the eighth position with 31 games lost. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-22. But Obras Basket won second period 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international Federico Aguerre (203-88) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and international Leonardo Mainoldi (203-85) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Dennis Horner (205-88, college: N.Carolina St.) with 8 points and 14 rebounds and the former international center Martin Leiva (211-80) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. San Martin Corrientes maintains first place with 35-13 record. Loser Obras Basket dropped to the fifth position with 24 games lost. Instituto was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Four Quilmes MP players scored in double figures. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Ferrocarril forced 19 La Union turnovers. Center Jose-Ignacio Alessio (203-87) stepped up and scored 12 points for the winners and naturalized Spanish guard Jonathan Maldonado (188-90) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Ferrocarril's coach Alvaro Castineira used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game.
