The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Libertad Sunchales as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Libertad Sunchales smashed 6th ranked San Isidro at home 99-75. Libertad Sunchales dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to San Isidro's 32. Libertad Sunchales looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Bruno Barovero (194-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points and 8 assists. Swingman Gregorio Eseverri (194-87) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Center Santiago Gonzalez (203-83) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for San Isidro. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. San Isidro at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Echague. San Isidro will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Libertad Sunchales will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked BHY Tiro Federal in Morteros.
Important game to mention about took place in Concepcion de Urug.. Fourth ranked Villa Mitre CF (4-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers Parque Sur (3-2) 76-73 in the fight for the second place. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Eric Anderson (204-93, college: New Haven) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 9 rebounds and Tomas Cocha who added 23 points during the contest. Pablo Alderete (196-93) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Villa Mitre CF moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Parque Sur at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Union SF. Villa Mitre CF will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Parque Sur will play at home against the league's leader CA Platense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Even 15 points and 8 assists by Rodrigo Gallegos did not help to save the game for Deportivo Norte. Barrio Parque moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Obera TC and Deportivo Norte. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ameghino (3-4) against fifth ranked Union SF (3-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Ameghino was defeated by Union SF in a tough game in Santa Fe 86-94. The best player for the winners was James Cambronne who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Union SF's coach Daniel Beltramo allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Union SF moved-up to third place, which they share with Parque Sur. Newly promoted Ameghino dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 8: Mitre Tuc. was beaten by Villa San Martin on the road 91-79. Temperley destroyed La Union on its own court 102-69. Estudiantes O. unfortunately lost to Atenas Carmen in Carmen de Patagones 67-79. Rocamora managed to beat Villa Mitre CF at home 83-74. Estudiantes O. was defeated by Deportivo Viedma on the opponent's court 79-74. Villa San Martin beat Hindu in a home game 80-75. Mitre Tuc. lost to Independiente on the road 74-81.
The most impressive performance of 8th round was 34 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds by Scott Cutley of Atenas Carmen.

Villa San Martin made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Point guard Martin Cabrera (181-96) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. American forward Paul Larsen (198-92, college: USC Aiken) contributed with 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Villa San Martin's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Very important is a road loss of third ranked Ameghino (3-4) against fifth ranked Union SF (3-2) on Sunday night. Visiting Ameghino was defeated by Union SF in a tough game in Santa Fe 86-94. Union SF made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Ameghino helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Haitian-American forward James Cambronne (201-91, college: St.Michael's) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by La Union's players. American forward Delwan Graham (203-88, college: Jacksonville) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Ignacio Davico (188-92) contributed with 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American power forward Jeffrey Fahnbulleh (200-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and forward Manuel Lambrisca (190-97) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for La Union. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
