We bring you last week's top performances from Argentinians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international point guard Facundo Campazzo (181-91, currently plays in Spain). Campazzo contributed to an easy victory against the sixth-ranked Gran Canaria (6-4) crushing them 96-72 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. He recorded 7 points and added 5 passes. Real Madrid (9-1) is placed first in the Liga Endesa. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Campazzo's first year with the team. This season Campazzo averages: 9.5ppg, 1.5rpg, 3.9apg, 2.0spg, 2FGP: 63.6%(28-44), 3FGP: 22.9% and FT: 71.4%. He is currently a member of the Argentinian senior national team.

Luis Scola

   #2. Second place goes to an experienced international power forward Luis Scola (206-80, currently plays in China). Scola could not help Brave Dragons (3-7) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Brave Dragons lost 89-96 on the road to the leading Flying Leopards. Scola had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 4 assists, 4 blocks and 3 steals in 38 minutes. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Scola's first year with the team. Scola has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 28.0ppg, 14.2rpg, 3.2apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 59.4%(101-170) and FT: 77.3% in 10 games he played so far. Scola has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Spanish. He is in the roster of the Argentinian senior national team.

   #3. The Argentinian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Manu Ginobili (198-77, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in NBA). Ginobili led San Antonio Spurs to an easy victory against the Memphis Grizzlies (7-15) 95-79 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored 11 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 6 assists. The San Antonio Spurs have a solid 15-8 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Ginobili is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his 16th year in Spurs' roster. Ginobili has relatively good stats this season: 8.1ppg, 2.2rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 50.6%, 3FGP: 26.8% and FT: 84.8%. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian. Ginobili played for the Argentinian national team one years ago.

Point guard Nicolas Richotti (183-86, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias in a victory against the league outsider Real Betis (0-10) 87-70 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Saturday. He recorded 5 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 19 minutes. Iberostar Tenerife CB Canarias (5-5) is placed ninth in the Liga Endesa. They ended the series of four consecutive loses. Richotti has been at the team for eight years. This season Richotti's overall stats are: 7.3ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.6apg in 10 games. He has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities. Richotti used to play for the Argentinian national team last year.

Former U19 international guard Cristian Cortez (185-90, currently plays in Mexico) led Fuerza Regia to a victory against the sixth-ranked Aaguacateros (6-7) 82-75 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) on Wednesday night. He scored 11 points. Fuerza Regia Monterrey (10-5) is placed second in the LNBP. This season Cortez has relatively solid stats: 10.6ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.9apg. He used to play for the Argentinian U19 national team eight years ago.

Shooting guard Federico Van Lacke (191-80, currently plays in Spain) contributed to Gipuzkoa's surprising victory against the fifth-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (7-3) 81-76 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Saturday night. He recorded 7 points. RETAbet Gipuzkoa BC San Sebastian (4-6) is placed 13th in the Liga Endesa. It's Van Lacke's first season with the team. Van Lacke's total stats this year are: 7.9ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.4spg. He is a former international player as he played for the Argentinian senior team four years ago.

International center Marcos Delia (211-92, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an UCAM Murcia's victory against the 14th-ranked Movil Estudiantes (3-6) 91-79 in the Spanish Liga Endesa in Sunday night's game. Delia recorded only 3 points and had 3 steals in 29 minutes. Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB (5-5) is placed tenth in the Liga Endesa. This year Delia's total stats are: 8.5ppg and 4.4rpg in 10 games. He is also Argentinian national team player.

   #8. Guard Lucio Redivo (183-94, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help RETAbet BB in their game against Burgos (2-8) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Redivo cannot count Sunday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points in 13 minutes. RETAbet BB was badly defeated 78-62 at home by the one of league's weakest teams (#17) Burgos. Despite Caceres' good performance the tenth-placed Roma S.Azzurra (4-5) was defeated 75-62 in Barcellona by the leading Basket in the Group D. He was the top scorer with 13 points. Caceres also added 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Caceres has averaged so far 9.3ppg, 5.6rpg and 2.0apg. He used to play for the Argentinian U16 national team fifteen years ago.

   #10. Center Luciano Tognon (205-94, currently plays in Chile) couldn't help Universidad de Concepcion (9-9) in their game against Puente Alto (8-9) in the Chilean Liga Nacional. Tognon cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 3 points in 4 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Universidad de Concepcion this season. Universidad de Concepcion (#3) was edged 68-66 in Puente Alto by the lower-ranked (#5) Puente Alto in the Conferencia Centro. Tognon is a former U18 international player as five years ago he still played for the Argentinian national team.

   #11. U19 international point guard Lautaro Lopez (188-99, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Fundacion 5+11 (2-9) in their last game on Friday. Despite his good performance Fundacion 5+11 was defeated 93-81 in Pamplona by the higher-ranked Navarra (#11). Lopez scored 13 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Lopez has reliable stats this season: 10.3ppg, 3.0rpg, 1.8apg and 1.8spg. He plays currently for the Argentinian U19 national team.


The list of other players, who all have Argentinian passport but never been selected to any of Argentinian national teams:

   #1. Ariel Filloy (189-PG-87, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Italy) led Scandone AV to a victory against the closely-ranked Umana Venezia (7-2) 87-77 in the Italian Serie A in Saturday night's game. He scored 12 points and added 7 assists in 36 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Scandone Avellino (7-2) is placed second in the Serie A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Filloy has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 2.1rpg and 3.1apg in nine games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Argentinian and Italian.

   #2. Andres Forray (187-PG-86, currently plays in Italy) could not help Dolomiti En. TR (3-6) in their last game. Despite Forray's good performance Dolomiti En. TR was edged 82-80 on the road by the higher-ranked (#9) Betaland Cdo. He scored 12 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 27 minutes. Forray plays seventh season for the team. This year Forray's total stats are: 7.7ppg, 4.2rpg, 3.2apg and 1.2spg in nine games. He is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Italian.

   #3. Bruno Cerella (194-G/F-86, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Italy) faced previously mentioned Ariel Filloy in the Italian Serie A last game. Cerella was not able to help Umana Venezia in their game against Scandone AV (7-2). He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. Cerella scored only 2 points. Umana Venezia was defeated 87-77 in Avellino by the second-ranked Scandone AV. Cerella's total stats this season are: 1.4ppg and 1.3rpg. Similarly like Forray and Filloy above he has both Argentinian and Italian nationalities.

   #4. Nicholas Wadell (201-F-89, currently plays in Uruguay) was not able to secure a victory for Olimpia (4-7) in their last game. Despite Wadell's good performance Olimpia lost 73-88 at home to the much higher-ranked (#3) Aguada. He recorded 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 30 minutes. Wadell's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Wadell has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.5ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.5apg in 11 games.

   #5. Juan Martin Orellano (190-G-89, currently plays in Spain) led Cambados to a victory over the league outsider Zamorano (0-11) 89-85 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Sunday night's game. Orellano was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and making 12 passes. Orellano also added 5 rebounds. Cambados Cidade Europea do Vino 2017 (6-5) is placed ninth in the LEB Silver. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Orellano's first season with the team. His total stats this year are: 8.4ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.5apg and 1.5spg.

   #6. Experienced Min-Soo Kim (200-C-82, currently plays in South Korea) couldn't help SK Knights (13-5) in their last game. Despite Kim's good performance the league leader SK Knights lost 73-82 on their home court in Seoul to the lower-ranked (#4) ET Land Elephants. He was the second best scorer with 12 points. Kim also added 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 34 minutes. He has reliable stats this year: 11.2ppg, 6.7rpg and 1.7apg in 18 games. Kim also holds two passports: South Korean and Argentinian.

   #7. Pablo Bertone (193-SG-90, also represented by Interperformances, college: Florida Atlantic, currently plays in Italy) contributed to a 3-point VL Pesaro's victory against the tenth-ranked Openjobmetis VA 74-71 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. Bertone scored 6 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists. Bertone has averaged so far 8.2ppg, 3.9rpg and 3.0apg. He holds both Argentinian and Italian passports.

   #8. Enzo Cafferata (187-PG-88, currently plays in Brazil) couldn't help Caxias do Sul in their last game. Despite Cafferata's good performance Caxias do Sul was edged 86-84 in Belo Horizonte by the second-ranked Minas. He scored 12 points and added 3 assists in 30 minutes. Cafferata has averaged so far 7.2ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.0apg in five games.

   #9. Brian Savoy (189-G-92, currently plays in Switzerland) contributed to Neuchatel's victory against the ninth-ranked Pully 86-79 in the Swiss SBL in Friday night's game. He recorded 12 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. Savoy has averaged so far 7.8ppg, 3.1rpg, 4.0apg and 1.1spg. He has dual citizenship: Argentinian and Swiss.

   #10. Patricio Prato (194-F/G-79, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Imola (3-6) in their last game. Despite Prato's good performance the 13th-placed Imola lost 70-81 in Verona to the higher-ranked (#9) Tezenis in the East group. He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Prato also added 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. Prato has reliable stats this year: 11.6ppg and 1.8rpg in nine games. He holds both Argentinian and Italian passports.

Guzman's 31-point game gives him TNA Player of the Week award - 1 day ago
22-year old forward Karel Guzman (188-F-95) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Ciclista and receives a Latinbasket.com TNA Player of the Week award for round 17. He had the game-high 31 points adding nine rebounds and two assists for Ciclista in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Parque Sur (#3, 8-5) 81-79. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Dominican Rep. Shooting guard Victor Liz (193-SG-86) put on an amazing game in the last round for Obras Basket, receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 2. The 31-year old player was the main contributor (23 points, six rebounds and five assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Penarol (#16, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 90-82.
