The most important game in the last round took place in Bahia Blanca between third ranked Argentino (5-4) and twelfth ranked Weber Bahia (5-4) on Tuesday night. Argentino was defeated by Weber Bahia in a tough game on the road 78-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Argentino. They outrebounded Argentino 41-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Weber Bahia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of international Maximo Fjellerup (198-97) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists and international Juan-Pablo Vaulet (198-96) who added 10 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Weber Bahia's coach Sebastian Ginobili used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Weber Bahia have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Obras Basket and Argentino. Weber Bahia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Argentino will play at home against Estudiantes C. (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Salta Basket managed to get a second victory, breaking the three-game losing streak. This time they won against tenth-ranked Quimsa 75-66. The winners were led by the former international point guard Diego Gerbaudo (178-89) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 rebounds and Ricky Harris supported him with 17 points and 5 assists. Salta Basket's coach Ricardo De Cecco allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by American-FYR Macedonian forward Jeremiah Massey (202-82, college: Kansas St., agency: Diamond Sports) did not help to save the game for Quimsa. Salta Basket (2-7) moved-up to nineteenth place, which they share with Comunicaciones. Quimsa lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. They share it with Regatas C.. Salta Basket will play against higher ranked Hispano Am. (#15) in Rio Gallegos in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Quimsa will play at home against Regatas Corrientes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
LigaA top team - San Lorenzo (8-1) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed fifteenth ranked Hispano Am. (3-6) in Almagra 92-71. The best player for the winners was Javier Justiz who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Larry OBannon produced 17 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. San Lorenzo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-1 record. Hispano Am. at the other side keeps the fifteenth place with six games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. San Lorenzo will meet Penarol (#14) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Hispano Am. will play against Salta Basket and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 8: Hispano Am. lost to Boca Jrs on the opponent's court 72-76. Estudiantes C. managed to outperform Quilmes MP in a home game 94-78. Atenas managed to beat Obras Basket on the road 96-86.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points and 13 rebounds by Mariano Fierro of Boca Jrs.

Boca Jrs - Hispano Am. 76-72

There was a minor upset in Buenos Aires where 15th ranked Hispano Am. (3-6) was defeated by eighteenth ranked Boca Juniors (3-6) 76-72 on Thursday. Boca Juniors outrebounded Hispano Am. 40-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Mariano Fierro (200-86) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Boca Juniors players scored in double figures. Boca Juniors' coach Gustavo Fernandez used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American guard Larry OBannon (192-83, college: Louisville) produced 18 points and 4 assists and naturalized Italian point guard Diego Ciorciari (185-80) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Boca Juniors moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Hispano Am. Boca Juniors will again meet at home Hispano Am. (#15) in the next round. Hispano Am. will play against Salta Basket and hope to secure a win.
