 St. George International - Paget Bear Cats 78:62 St. George International closed an impressive season at the Premier Basketball League in style. They toppled the Paget Bear Cats in the Final game to claim the crown. The victory marked the third straight title for the St. George International. The International did the obligatory home task of limiting the undoubtedly best player of the regular season Chris Crumpler (-83).

 The Bermuda leagues favorites Paget Bear Cats advanced to the championship game following their win in the semifinal. There the top seed faced Hamilton Tsunamis. The game was an evenly matched contest throughout the action. But the regular season MVP Chris Crumpler (-83) was the one to prove the difference. His impressive tally of 41 points allowed the Bear Cats to celebrate a tough 78:66 victory at the end. Shawn Palmer and Jonathan Noseworthy provided 16 points apiece for the Tsunamis.

 Paget Bearcats - Southampton Titans 71-49 Top seed Paget Bearcats steamrolled past the Titans with Chris Crumpler (-83) again leading the way. Crumpler also picked up his MVP award for the season. He averaged 30.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 4.5 assists per game. Aaron Jackson pulled down 13 rebounds in the win. Johnny Minors and Adam Correia both had 15 points with Minors also collecting seven boards for the Titans. Southampton was done in by its 22 turnovers.

 Paget Beat Cats are the top team at the Bermudas Premier Basketball League at the moment. They enjoy a top position in the league's ladder with 7-1 record. Recently the Paget Bear Cats overcame the Southampton Titans 73:43 for their 6th win. Chris Crumpler was impressive with game-high 32 points, 9 steals, 6 boards and 5 assists. He was trumped the PBL Player of the Week for the performance. He was well helped by Richard Warner with 13 points. Adam Correia answered with 10 points for the Titans.

 Basketball becomes a part and parcel of life on Bermudas as the different competitions are going on around with lots of talented basketballers taking part. Recently the first ever annual PBL All-Star weekend took place. The All-Star game was traditionally preceded by all kinds of entertaining skills contests. The events were held at the MSA Stadium attracting dozen of basketball fans. Adam Correia of the Southampton Titans celebrated the title in the Skills contest.

 Sullivan Phillips (196-F-79, college: Columbia Union) and his Pardubice are 5th in Czech Republic with a 24-18 record. In the latest game Pardubice lost to the third team of the league. Prostejov trimmed the distance to Geofin with a hard-fought 80:70 road win over Pardubice. The hosts piled up a 46:44 advantage at the long intermission however Prostejov raised the tempo after the break and eventually gained a positive outcome. Rashaan Ames topscored for Prostejov with 15 points.

 One of the rare Bermudas imports in Europe Sullivan Phillips (196-F-79, college: Columbia Union) started a new season with Pardubice in Czech Republic NBL. Pardubice got to a confident start and celebrated two home victories at the start. Sullivan Phillips was among top scorers for his side in both games. First Pardubice edged Usti 98:75 at home CEZ Arena.

 Once one of the biggest prospects in Bermudas basketball David Patrick had to finish his career in the beginning of 2000s. He suffered the second major knee injury and decided to quit basketball. But it turned out that he left basketball as a player but returned there as a coach. He was promoted to an assistant coach position at St.Mary's College.
