Justin Smith
Justin Smith had a great game in the last round for Bahamas Univ. and that's him to receive a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 14.
The had the game-high 29 points adding six rebounds and three assists for Bahamas Univ. in his team's victory, helping them to beat Pros (#9, 2-11) 78-64. Bahamas Univ. maintains the 6th position in Bahamas NPBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Bahamas Univ. will need more victories to improve their 8-3 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Bahamas Univ.'s top player in his first season with the team. Smith has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 23.5ppg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old international Eugene Bain (195-C/F-88) of second-ranked Regulators. Bain impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 36 points and 17 rebounds. Bad luck as Regulators lost that game 101-108 to slightly lower-ranked Cybots (#3, 10-5). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Regulators still maintains its place in the top 2 of the standings, even despite this loss. It was just his team's 3rd loss this season, while they won 12 other games. Bain is a newcomer at Regulators and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.3ppg (#2). He also registered 14.1 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Bahamas Univ.'s star - Kemsy Sylvestre. Sylvestre scored 24 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). He was another key player of Bahamas Univ., helping his team with a 78-64 easy win against the lower-ranked Pros (#9, 2-11). Bahamas Univ. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 3 lost games. Sylvestre has a great season in Bahamas. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.1ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 11.4rpg (4th best). He also has 2.3spg, 1.6bpg and FGP: 52.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Livingston Munnings (C) of Cybots - 20 points and 21 rebounds
5. Anthony Williams) of Rebels - 13 points and 21 rebounds
6. Ernest Saunders (188-G) of Cybots - 29 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
7. Domnick Bridgewater) of Stingers - 21 points and 3 assists
8. Devon Ferguson) of Stingers - 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Duran Burrows) of Pros - 11 points, 18 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Trent Cox (196-F) of Giants - 8 points and 11 rebounds

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
