28-year old Eugene Bain (195-C/F-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Regulators and receives a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15. He had a double-double of 36 points and 16 rebounds, while his team beat Bahamas Univ. (#3, 10-4) 88-76. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Regulators maintains the 2nd position in Bahamas league. They are still close to the very top. Regulators would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 13-3 record. Bain turned to be Regulators' top player in his first season with the team. Bellevue University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bain is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.1ppg) and averages solid 50.8% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Justin Smith of Bahamas Univ.. He is a in his first season at Bahamas Univ.. In the last game Smith recorded impressive 25 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Bahamas Univ. to another comfortable win 90-77 over the lower-ranked Pirates (#8, 6-9) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Bahamas Univ. to move up to 3rd position in the standings. His team's 10-4 record is not bad at all. Smith is a newcomer at Bahamas Univ. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.7ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 6.9rpg and 3.8apg.
Third place about best performers goes to another Regulators' star - guard Brian Bain (190-G-81). Bain got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . He was another key player of Regulators, helping his team with a 113-70 easy win against the lower-ranked Cleaners (#10, 2-10). Regulators is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 13-3 record is not that bad... Bain has a great season in Bahamas. After 12 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 12.4ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 5.6rpg (#1 in league).

#1. This week's number one is an international forward David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Argentina). He contributed to a 2-point Olimpico de La Banda's victory against the third-ranked Regatas Corrientes (30-19) 90-88 in the Argentinian LigaA last Friday.
Nesbitt recorded 8 points.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Norte. Ciclista Olimpico de La Bandais placed .
This season Nesbitt averages: 9.8ppg, 5.7rpg, 2FGP: 50.8%, 3FGP: 28.3% and FT: 82.4%.
He is currently a member of the Bahamas senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international swingman J.R. Cadot (196-87, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: TCU, currently plays in Spain). He led Zornotza to a victory over the league outsider Gandia (8-22) crushing them 82-59 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Saturday night's game.
Cadot was MVP of the game. He scored 19 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
Ametx Zornotza (17-13) is placed sixth in the LEB Silver.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Cadot's first season with the team.
Cadot has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 56.7%(68-120), 3FGP: 27.8% and FT: 48.1%.
He is in the roster of the Bahamas senior national team.
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international forward Bennet Davis (206-84, agency: Inception Sports, college: Northeastern, currently plays in France). He was the main contributor in a SAP Vaucluse's surprising victory against the seventh-ranked Rueil (19-15) 102-93 in the French NM1 (third division) last Sunday.
Davis was the best player in that game. He recorded 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 28 minutes.
Sorgues-Avignon-Le Pontet Vaucluse (15-19) is placed 14th in the NM1.

This year Davis has relatively solid stats: 11.8ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.8apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 52.8%, 3FGP: 38.2% and FT: 81.5% in 17 games he played so far.
Worth to mention Davis played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He played for the Bahamas national team three years ago.
#4. Power forward Christopher Turnquest (203-83, college: Miles CC, currently plays in Spain) could not help Arenys (13-12) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Turnquest's very good performance the sixth-placed Arenys (13-12) was edged 68-67 at home by the much lower-ranked Mataro (#13) in the Group C-A.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 10 rebounds.
The Regular Season already ended.
Turnquest has reliable stats this season: 11.4ppg and 6.4rpg.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team
back in 2006.

He scored 24 points and had 3 steals in 41 minutes.
The Golden State Warriors have quite an impressive 67-15 record this season.
It's Thompson's sixth year with the team.
Thompson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 22.2ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.0apg in 81 games he played so far.
Thompson has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
#2.Zane Knowles (208-C-92, college: Texas A&M-CC, currently plays in Poland) contributed to a 2-point Wilki Morskie's victory against one of league's weakest teams Polfarmex (5-26) 77-75 in the Polish PLK on Saturday night.
Knowles scored 7 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 17 minutes.
King Szczecin (15-15) is placed 11th in the PLK.
His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
This year Knowles' overall stats are: 5.1ppg and 4.8rpg in eight games.
#3.Jonathan Fairell (201-F-93, agency: Duran International, college: Murray St., currently plays in France) contributed to a SPO Rouen's victory against the closely-ranked Chorale de Roanne (12-16) 94-82 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game.
Fairell scored 6 points and added 4 assists in 23 minutes.
SPO Rouen Basket (14-14) is placed tenth in the ProB.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
Fairell's stats this year are: 14.5ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg in 28 games.
He is another player who holds two passports: Bahamas and American.
#4.Robert Nortmann (205-F, college: Dalhousie, currently plays in NBLCanada) could not help the Island Storm (15-21) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Nortmann's good performance the Island Storm (#3) was defeated 115-110 on the road by the lower-ranked Kitchener-Waterloo Titans.
He scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
There are only three games left until the end of the NBL Canada Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
Nortmann's stats this season are: 14.5ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg.
He has both Bahamas and Canadian nationalities.
