Bima Perkasa lands Gjio Bain, ex Giants - Feb 26, 2017

Gjio Bain
Bima Perkasa Yogyakarta (IBL) tabbed 32-year old Bahamas center Gjio Bain (211-102kg-85, college: S.Mississippi). He played recently at Giants in Bahamas NPBA. In 7 games he averaged 5.4ppg and 4.9rpg this season. The last season Bain played at Hiroshima Lightning (BJ League) in Japan where in 15 games he had 6.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.2bpg.
Among other achievements he played in the final of IBL for two years in a row (2013 and 2014). Bain received also USBasket.com All-IBL 2nd Team award back in 2012.
He was also a member of Bahamas international program for some years. Bain played for Bahamas Senior National Team between 2009 and 2011 and previously for U21 National Team in 2004.
He represented Bahamas at the CBC Championships in Nassau (Bahamas) six years ago. Bain's team won Silver and his stats at that event were 6 games: 1.8ppg, 2.0rpg.
Bain is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in four different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Asian and of course North American leagues. Bain has played previously professionally in Iran (M.H.Ahvaz), Mexico, Spain (A.D. Tarragona) and IBL (Vancouver Volcanoes, Olympia R. and Orlando V.).
He attended University of Southern Mississippi until 2008 and it is his ninth season in pro basketball.

Former Kansas forward Dwight Coleby (6'9''-F-94) has decided to transfer to Western Kentucky, Hilltoppers coach Rick Stansbury announced on Saturday. Coleby, a 6-foot-9 forward from Nassau, Bahamas, who announced his plans on May to leave KU, chose Western Kentucky over Louisiana Monroe and Arkansas Little Rock. ADA Blois Basket 41 (ProB) landed 24-year old Bahamas forward Jonathan Fairell (201-120kg-93, college: Murray State, agency: Duran International) from SPO Rouen Basket. In 34 ProB games in France he averaged 14.5ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.1spg last season.
