Kevin Wright
Kemsy Sylvestre put on an amazing game in the last round for Bahamas Univ., receiving a Latinbasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The player was the main contributor (24 points, nine rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Pros (#9, 3-13) with 19-point margin 89-70. Bahamas Univ. maintains the 4th position in Bahamas NPBA. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Bahamas Univ. will need more victories to improve their 11-5 record. In the team's last game Sylvestre had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Bahamas Univ.'s top player in his first season with the team. Kemsy Sylvestre has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 22.5ppg), rebounds (7th best: 10.9rpg) and averages impressive 1.5bpg and 3.5spg.

The second best player in last round's games was -year old Herbert Knowles of Cleaners. Knowles had a very good evening with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. Of course Cleaners cruised to a 66-57 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Rebels (#12, 1-15). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Cleaners keeps 10th position. 13 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Cleaners managed to get this year. Knowles is a newcomer at Cleaners, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Craig Buchanan (193-G) of Rebels (#12). Buchanan scored 22 points and grabbed five rebounds. Despite Buchanan's great performance Rebels lost 57-66 to slightly higher-ranked Cleaners (#10, 3-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Rebels can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-15 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Too bad for Buchanan he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Buchanan has a very solid season. In 14 games in Bahamas he scored 14.1ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Vadis Morrison) of Cleaners - 15 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists
5. Keithan Gray) of Pros - 18 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Tevin Hudson) of Pirates - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Kevin Wright (178-PG) of Pirates - 16 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists
8. Romell Johnson) of Cleaners - 23 points and 4 rebounds
9. Domonique Fernander) of Pirates - 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Ramon Dames (G-93) of Bahamas Univ. - 14 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
