Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Bahamians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Buddy Hield (193-93, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in NBA). Hield could not help the Sacramento Kings (28-45) in their last game on Friday. Despite his very good performance the Sacramento Kings (28-45) were defeated 114-100 on the road by the Golden State Warriors. Hield was the top scorer with 22 points. He also added 8 rebounds and dished 7 assists. Hield has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 14.8ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 54.5%, 3FGP: 44.2% and FT: 83.9%. Hield played for the Bahamas senior national team three years ago.

David Nesbitt

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Argentina). He contributed to a 2-point Olimpico de La Banda's victory against the fourth-ranked Instituto (25-19) 83-81 in the Argentinian LigaA on Wednesday night. Nesbitt recorded 8 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 23 minutes. Ciclista Olimpico de La Banda (24-19) is placed fifth in Norte group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Nesbitt has relatively good stats this year: 10.5ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 49.3%, 3FGP: 39.1% and FT: 86.4% in 11 games he played so far. He is in the roster of the Bahamas senior national team.

   #3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an international swingman J.R. Cadot (196-87, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: TCU, currently plays in Spain). He led Zornotza to a victory against the 12th-ranked L'Hospitalet (9-17) 90-76 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Saturday night. Cadot scored 12 points. Ametx Zornotza (14-12) is placed seventh in the LEB Silver. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Cadot's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 9.6ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 55.1%(49-89), 3FGP: 23.1%. Cadot is also a member of the Bahamas senior national team.

   #4. An experienced power forward Christopher Turnquest (203-83, college: Miles CC, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Arenys (11-11) in their last game. Despite his good performance the sixth-placed Arenys (11-11) lost 59-69 at home to the lower-ranked (#11) JAC Sants in the Group C-A. Turnquest was the second best scorer with 10 points. He also added 7 rebounds in 21 minutes. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Turnquest has relatively solid stats: 11.2ppg and 6.3rpg in 21 games. He used to play for the Bahamas national team back in 2006.

   #5. Former international forward Bennet Davis (206-84, agency: Inception Sports, college: Northeastern, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams SAP Vaucluse (13-17) in their game against Gries/Oberhoffen (14-16) in the French NM1 (third division). He scored 7 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. SAP Vaucluse was defeated 98-87 on their home court in Sorgues by the higher-ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (#12). They ended the series of three consecutive victories. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. Davis has reliable stats this season: 11.6ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.1apg and 1.3spg. Worth to mention Davis played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He used to play for the Bahamas national team three years ago.

   #6. Forward Dwight Coleby (206-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help University of Kansas in a victory against the Michigan State University (10-8) crushing them 90-70 in the NCAA National Tournament Round 2 on Sunday night. Coleby scored only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 9 minutes on the court. The University of Kansas have quite an impressive 16-2 conference record this season. The National Tournament Round 2 already ended in the NCAA. This year Coleby's overall stats are: 1.7ppg and 1.8rpg in 24 games. He is a former international player as he played for the Bahamas senior team three years ago.

   #7. International forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW, currently plays in Israel) contributed to a 1-point Hap.Haifa's victory against the closely-ranked Galil Elion (10-14) 86-85 in the Israeli National League (second division) on Tuesday night. Burrows scored 15 points, had 5 boards, dished 8 assists and stole 4 balls. Hapoel Haifa (10-14) is placed tenth in the National League. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. This season Burrows has very high stats. He averages: 22.1ppg, 10.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.9spg. Burrows is also Bahamas national team player.

The list of other players, who all have Bahamas passport but never been selected to any of Bahamas national teams:

   #1. Klay Thompson (201-G-90, college: Washington St., currently plays in NBA) led Golden State Warriors to a victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder (41-31) 111-95 in the NBA in Monday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Thompson recorded 34 points (!!!) and grabbed 6 rebounds in 32 minutes. The Golden State Warriors have a very solid 59-14 record this season. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. It's Thompson's sixth year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Thompson averages: 22.2ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.0apg in 70 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.

   #2. Jonathan Fairell (201-F-93, agency: Duran International, college: Murray St., currently plays in France) was the main contributor in a SPO Rouen's victory against the 16th-ranked Aix-Maurienne (9-15) 74-63 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game. Fairell was MVP of the game. He scored 21 points, had 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Fairell's second season in pro basketball. SPO Rouen Basket (11-13) is placed 11th in the ProB. It's Fairell's first year with the team. This season he has relatively solid stats: 14.3ppg, 7.0rpg and 1.3apg. Fairell is another player who holds two passports: Bahamas and American.

   #3. Zane Knowles (208-C-92, college: Texas A&M-CC, currently plays in Poland). He could not help Wilki Morskie (13-13) to beat Polpharma (14-12). Knowles scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 16 minutes. Wilki Morskie lost 58-67 on the road to the higher-ranked (#9) Polpharma. This year Knowles' overall stats are: 6.4ppg and 5.4rpg in five games.

   #4. Dynile Forbes (190-G-87, college: La-Monroe, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Gandia (7-19) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Forbes' good performance Gandia was badly defeated 89-72 in Leon by the higher-ranked Agustinos-Leclerc (#11). He scored 11 points. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Forbes' stats this season are: 13.4ppg and 2.3rpg.

   #5. Robert Nortmann (205-F, college: Dalhousie, currently plays in NBLCanada) was not able to secure a victory for the Island Storm (11-16) in their game against the Halifax Hurricanes (24-8) in the NBL Canada. He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Nortmann recorded only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court. The Island Storm (#3) lost 100-105 in Halifax, NS to the leading Halifax Hurricanes. Nortmann averaged so far 13.4ppg and 2.3rpg in 10 games. He has both Bahamas and Canadian nationalities.   

MAFC Budapest lands Bennet Davis - 23 days ago
MAFC Budapest (A Division) tabbed 33-year old Bahamas ex-international forward Bennet Davis (206-102kg-84, college: Northeastern, agency: Inception Sports). He played most recently at SAP Vaucluse in French NM1 league. In 17 games he averaged 11.8ppg, 5.5rpg, 1   [read more]

Lausanne tabs Shaquille Cleare - 1 month ago
BBC Lausanne (LNB) inked 24-year old Bahamas center Shaquille Cleare (203-120kg-93). He just graduated from Texas (NCAA). Cleare has played there for the last four years. As mentioned above he is just out of the college and it is his first season in pro basketball. Burrows re-signs at Fos-Provence - 2 months ago
FOS Provence Basket (ProB) confirmed in their roster 32-year old Bahamas international forward Jaraun Burrows (203-100kg-85, college: IPFW). He played there last season. In 12 ProB games he had 9.9ppg, 4.9rpg and 2.5apg. Burrows helped them to make it to the semifinals. He also played that season for Hapoel Haifa (National League) in Israel where in 26 games he was third best scorer with impressive 21.7ppg and averaged 9.8rpg, 1.9apg and 1.9spg.
