Cybots - Regulators 77-78

Regulators nipped Cybots to bounce back from the opening loss in the Finals. The teams are now tied at 1-1 in the title series. Regulators forced 23 Cybots turnovers and had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was international power forward Eugene Bain (195-88, college: Bellevue) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 15 rebounds. Dion McPhee chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Regulators' coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Center Livingston Munnings produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 21 rebounds and guard Ernest Saunders (188, college: Cleveland St. CC) added 15 points and 10 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Cybots players scored in double figures.

25-year old center Livingston Munnings (C-92) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Rockets and receives a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 5. He had a double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Bahamas Univ. (#4, 2-3) 79-78. Rockets maintains the 2nd position in their group in Bahamas league. They are still close to the very top. Rockets would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round.    [read more]

NPBA round 5 caused change at the leadership position. Second defeat of league's leader Stingers (5-2) against leader Giants (5-0) 93-90 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Stingers.
