FOS Provence Basket (ProB) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old Bahamas international forward Jaraun Burrows (203-100kg-85, college: IPFW). He started the season at Hap.Haifa in Israeli National League. In 26 games he recorded very impressive stats: 21.7ppg, 9.8rpg, 1.9apg and 1.9spg this season. The last season Burrows played at BC Lulea in Swedish Basketligan where in 39 games he was second best scorer with remarkable 20.1ppg and had 8.3rpg (#5 in the league), 3.1apg, 1.3spg and 1.2bpg. Burrows helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals. Great season indeed as he was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Basketligan Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and Forward of the Year.
He also represented Bahamas at the CBC Championships in Nassau (Bahamas) six years ago. Burrows' team won Silver and his stats at that event were 6 games: 11.8ppg, Reb-5 (8.2rpg), 1.7apg, 1.0spg, Blocks-4 (1.3bpg), FGP: 60.8%, FT: 50.0%.
Burrows is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Finland (Tapiolan Honka), Slovakia (MBK Rieker Com Therm Komarno), Switzerland (Starwings), Sweden (Sodertalje Kings) and ABA (Music City Stars).
Burrows attended Indiana Univ-Purdue Univ.-Ft.Wayne until 2008 and it is his ninth season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Excellent athlete and shot blocker. Very long and active around the basket. Aggressive finisher who looks to dunk on every opportunity inside, but also has a very good touch around the basket along with excellent footwork and a variety of post-moves down low. A major match up problem for any team as he can take you outside or put ball on floor and take you to the whole with his quickness. Runs the floor the floor like a track star. Showed vast improvement in college and has the potential and desire to continue improving as a professional-very high ceiling on his potential as a player!.
