Goodridge has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2012.

He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Vernon is a beast and the NBA is his reality.
He has a NBA body and had nice inside moves, skills and a good touch around the basket.
At 6'10' 235 lbs., Vernon has developed a reputation as one of the top shot blockers on the planet. His size, speed and strength, along with tremendous leaping ability and athleticism, enable him to be a force rebounding the ball and on the defensive side of the floor
