Very expected game in Sao Paulo where 13th ranked Pinheiros (4-10) was rolled over by fifth ranked Paulistano (10-4) 68-46 on Saturday. Paulistano dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Pinheiros' 18. They outrebounded Pinheiros 40-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was center Maique Tavares (210-93) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) chipped in 15 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international guard Humberto Silva (196-95) who recorded 16 points and 5 rebounds and the former international Guilherme Teichmann (204-83, college: Tulsa) added 2 points and 9 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Paulistano moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bauru. Loser Pinheiros keeps the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Paulistano will face UniFacisa (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Pinheiros will play against Paschoalotto/Bauru and hope to win that game.
