Very significant was Victoria's (#2, 6-0) victory against 3rd ranked La Perla (2-4) 69-45. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of La Perla. Victoria forced 32 La Perla turnovers and outrebounded them 54-43 including a 24-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international power forward Dayanna Salcedo (176-89) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and the former international guard Doris Lasso (164-93) supported her with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Even 8 points and 11 rebounds by center Samy Bacilio (180-3) did not help to save the game for La Perla. The former international Jillian Molina (172-1) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Victoria (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Audaz. La Perla at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with UDJ. Victoria will play against league's leader Audaz in Machala in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. La Perla will play on the road against UDJ in Quininde and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
