Regular Season Round 9: Caxias do Sul - Mogi 87-92

Very predictable result when eighth ranked Mogi (8-7) beat on the road 15th ranked Caxias do Sul (2-12) 92-87 on Sunday. Mogi made 19-of-19 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Fulvio de-Assis (186-81) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American Dominique Coleman (195-88, college: FMU) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Mogi's coach Jorge Guerra used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was international forward Tulio Da Silva (203-96, college: Missouri St.) who recorded 20 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian point guard Nicolas Ferreyra (181-85) added 16 points and 7 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mogi. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Franca. Newly promoted Caxias do Sul keeps the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Mogi will have a break next round. Caxias do Sul will play against Corinthians (#9) in Sao Paulo and hope to win that game.
