Regular Season Round 39: Quimsa - Comunicaciones 89-81

La Liga top team - Quimsa (20-4) added another victory to their record on Thursday. This time they beat ninth ranked Comunicaciones (6-16) in Santiado del Estero 89-81. Quimsa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Diamon Simpson (204-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import Brandon Robinson (196-89, college: Clayton St.) helped adding 23 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was naturalized Italian center Omar Canton (206-82) with 19 points and Lucas Arn (197-89) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-4 record. Comunicaciones lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Obera. Quimsa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Comunicaciones will play at home against San Martin Corrientes (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
