We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Brasilia where 13th ranked Campo Mourao (5-12) was defeated by fourteenth ranked Cerrado (4-13) 74-57 on Thursday. Cerrado had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (193-93, college: Dartmouth) who scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Paulo Da-Costa (193-94) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Cerrado players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Anton Cook (189-95, college: SE Oklahoma) who recorded 11 points and 6 rebounds and Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (185-86) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Cerrado maintains fourteenth position with 4-13 record. Campo Mourao lost fourth consecutive game. Campo Mourao at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth place with 12 games lost. Cerrado will face higher ranked Pato Basquete (#11) in Pato Branco in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
