Bottom-ranked Brasilia managed to get a third victory. This time they outleveled ninth-ranked Fortaleza 87-67. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 20-point difference suggests that Brasilia is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Brasilia outrebounded Fortaleza 47-24 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fortaleza was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. The former international center Caio Torres (211-87) accounted for 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Dontrell Brite (175-94, college: Mount Olive) came up with 18 points and 6 assists and the other American import guard Desmond Holloway (194-90, college: Coastal) added 19 points respectively for Fortaleza in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brasilia maintains sixteenth place with 3-18 record. Fortaleza at the other side dropped to the tenth position with ten games lost. Brasilia's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Brasilia Cerrado.
