Regular Season Round 3: Villa S.Martin - Echague 96-76

The most surprising game was a loss of Echague (1-1) in Resistencia on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by Villa S.Martin (1-1) 96-76. Villa S.Martin shot 63.5 percent from the field and made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Villa S.Martin outrebounded Echague 39-25 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Villa S.Martin especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for forward Sebastian Picton (196-92) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Santiago Perez helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five Villa S.Martin players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Lisandro Ruiz Moreno (183-89) with 22 points and 5 assists and Facundo Carulla (194-93) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Villa S.Martin is looking forward to face Sp.America (#4) in Rosario in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Echague will play at home against Olimpico and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
