The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Union SF (3-1) in Santa Fe on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by ninth ranked Tiro Federal (2-1) 90-83. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Union SF. Tiro Federal looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Union SF helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Jorge Banegas (190-93, agency: BIG) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Italian Juan Kelly (190-88) contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Point guard Andres Jaime (184-0) answered with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and swingman Matias Borsatti (189-97, agency: BIG) added 23 points in the effort for Union SF. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tiro Federal moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Union SF at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Tiro Federal is looking forward to face Echague (#10) in Parana in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Union SF will play on the road against Independiente (#14) in Santiago del Estero and is hoping to win this game.
