Bottom-ranked Independiente (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 66-60 loss to fifth ranked Tiro Federal (4-1) in Santiago del Estero. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Italian Juan Kelly (189-88) who led the winners and scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward David Cabezas (198-88) accounted for 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. Power forward Ignacio Luna (202-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Damian Palacios (178-85) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Independiente in the defeat. Tiro Federal have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Union SF. Independiente at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost.
