The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Obras as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Velez) loss. Obras smashed 8th ranked Ferro in Buenos Aires 85-66. Obras forced 21 Ferro turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Camila Suarez (178-0) who led her team to a victory with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Amaiquen Siciliano (163-99, college: Bishop's) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Swingman Candela Ruffino (184-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and the former international swingman Guillermina Coz (178-89) added 17 points and 4 assists in the effort for Ferro. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Obras (5-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Velez. Newly promoted Ferro dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Los Indios. Ferro will play next round against Union Florida trying to get back on the winning streak. Obras will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Velez at Sarsfield.
