The game in Florida was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Velez (6-2) played at the court of 6th ranked Union Florida (4-4). Velez managed to secure a 6-point victory 53-47 on Sunday. Velez forced 20 Union Florida turnovers. The best player for the winners was Magali Vilches who scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. Lucila Sampietro chipped in 10 points. Forward Carla Miculka (174-93) produced 7 points and 11 rebounds and guard Sol Laviero (172-96) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Velez moved-up to second place, which they share with Berazategui and Rocamora. Newly promoted Union Florida keeps the sixth position with four games lost. Velez will meet at home league's second-placed Berazategui in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Union Florida will play against Espanola (#10) in San Vicente and hope to secure a win.
