Regular Season Round 13: Salta Basket - CAO Ceres 90-64
Date: March 15, 2021
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Salta Basket and 8th ranked Olimpico had identical 4-3 record. This time Salta Basket used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Ceres 90-64 on Monday night. Olimpico was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Nicolas Zurschmitten (183-95) fired 20 points for the winners. Point guard Nahuel Buchaillot (178-0) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. Forward Gonzalo Guevara (196-98) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Daniel Tabbia (195-93) added 16 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Salta Basket (5-3) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Barrio Parque and Villa S.Martin. Loser Olimpico keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Salta Basket will face Riachuelo LR (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Olimpico will play against Independiente (#14) in Santiago del Estero and hope to win that game.
