Independiente can celebrate finally their first win this season after seven consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in , where they edged Riachuelo LR (1-8) 74-71 on Monday. Sebastian Lugo (195-98) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and point guard Damian Palacios (178-85) chipped in 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American forward TJ Robinson (203-89, college: LBSU) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and guard Thiago Dasso (185-0) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Five Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Riachuelo LR's coach Fabricio Salas tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Independiente (1-7) left bottom position moving up to fourteenth place. It was Riachuelo LR's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Independiente will meet at home higher ranked Olimpico (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Riachuelo LR will play against Salta Basket (#6) and hope to win that game.
