Regular Season Round 1: Urunday - Aguada 98-82

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Montevideo: Urunday and Aguada. Urunday crushed visiting Aguada by 16 points 98-82. Urunday dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Aguada's 40. They outrebounded Aguada 44-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Aguada was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a very good performance for forward Tyrone Lee (206-90, college: GVSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Marcus Elliott (196-84, college: Louisiana Tech) contributed with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Dwayne Davis (196-89, college: Southern Miss) answered with 22 points and power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) added 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Aguada. Five Urunday and four Aguada players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Urunday's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Montevideo to the arena Penarol.
