An interesting game for Brazilian Minas (2-4) which played road game in Cordoba against their close opponent Argentinian Instituto (1-3). Second ranked Minas managed to get a 8-point victory 88-80. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Minas made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Uruguayan guard Luciano Parodi (189-94) scored 21 points, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and Bahamas David Nesbitt (203-91, college: St.Thomas, FL) chipped in 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Five Minas players scored in double figures. Guard Santiago Scala (187-91) responded with 25 points and Venezuelan Nestor Colmenares (203-87, college: Campbellsville, agency: Pro Sports) scored 7 points and 14 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Minas maintains second position with 2-4 record having just two point less than leader Flamengo. Instituto at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with CDU Concepcion. Minas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Instituto will play at home against the league's leader Flamengo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
